MAIN JOB PURPOSE:
The Business Analyst plays an integral part in achieving business goals through cost savings initiatives, systems optimization and customer service to ultimately help drive sustainable and profitable growth. This should be achieved through improving systems efficiency and monitoring compliance to agreed systems usage indicators.
This role will network cross functionally, as well as partner with global and local IT teams, capability and operational teams to deliver an integrated business solution of functional and systems excellence. The business analyst will draw on his/her strong operational business process understanding together with his/her extensive IT systems skills, to focus on enhancing knowledge of and drive every day great execution of our existing systems and systems processes, actively searching for continuous improvement opportunities, resolve system issues and consult on project teams to deliver the cross functional integrated systems map for new innovations to meet the identified business objectives and ensure business continuity.
To maximize the benefits of our systems, the business systems analyst will drive compliance to systems usage and processes through active monitoring of key compliance identifiers and partner with the relevant business process owners and capability leads to correct the usage where required to ultimately deliver the best possible business results.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Enhance Knowledge and Systems Ability:
Ensuring that users are skilled to:
Deal with any issues on process execution and system usage
Resolve “How-to” queries and issues due to user knowledge on how to execute process steps and how to use of the related IT system in undertaking process activities
Assist the Users to ensure that
Relevant documentation and reference material are available to assist with how to use the system
Resolution of IT problems
The Systems Analyst will assist Users and Process Champions to:
Log relevant incidents with the IT Service Desk after verifying this is not a “How-to” and to provide enough detail on the issue, scope, extent of business impact to support effective resolution of the IT issue.
For queries relating to system issues that users cannot resolve, the Systems Analyst will assist the User with the query either by resolving it or by assisting the Users to log the call with the relevant global teams for assistance and resolution. The Systems Analyst will work with the User and the relevant IT Team (L2) to help specify the problem with the IT system
testing of IT solutions to resolve problems and will help to confirm resolution of relevant IT Incidents within his/her scope of responsibility
For Urgent incidents with IT Systems the Systems Analyst will help the User to clarify impact and scope of the incident - working closely with the IT Team (L2 & MCO)
For persistent problems the Systems Analyst with work with Key User to work with the IT Team (L2) in problem investigation as required to ensure effective operation of the system in his/her process area
PI and other technical interfaces support will be picked up by the systems Analyst to resolve and ensure all backlogs are cleared once the technical issue has been resolved
P1 – escalation approval should sit with the systems team.
Changes to IT Systems (due to local projects, global roll outs, process optimization – CR’s/TSR’s)
The Systems analyst will support the Users and Process Champion/CL’s to engage GPE/CAB to gain necessary support and approval for system changes and help to specify these changes
Support the Users/PC/CL to with detailing the system requirements for Change Requests and Functional Specification and completing the cookbooks
Systems Analyst will, when appropriate, do Unit testing and integration testing to ensure system is working as expected.
Systems Analyst, for changes made to IT systems in the his/her area of responsibility will support the User to conduct User Acceptance Testing (UAT) in order to validate the solution meets requirements of the business and ensure timeliness of signoff.
If the changes are locally specific, the Systems analyst will assist the User to update the required local process documentation
Manage impact of system changes through regression testing
The systems analyst will ensure adequate test packs exist for all functions, either through enhancing existing or developing new where required
For any significant changes made to IT System introduced at global/regional level or for other countries, the Key User needs to ensure that these changes do not impact the normal operation of the system in his/her area of responsibility by undertaking Regression Testing on the system. This involves aligning with testing schedules and ensuring regression testing results are shared and logging any issues encountered in testing with L2 IT Team
The systems analyst will assist the User to ensure that within the scope of his/her responsibilities that Regression testing Scenarios are kept updated so that appropriate level of testing is conducted
Business Continuity / Contingency Plan
Assist the PC and End Users to define the systems aspects of the BCP
The systems analyst will assist the user in the testing of these business contingency plans and assist in testing IT Disaster Recovery plans within scope of his/her responsibility area
In the event of a major incident on the IT Systems, the key user will work with the Process champion in activating the systems elements of the business contingency plans
Maintain user’s skill and knowledge
Work with the CL, Process Champions and users to define a full onboarding program for new employees
Support The user with the systems training in the On -Boarding training for any newcomer to his/ her area (new employee or transfer)
Support the user to undertake refresher training to existing users to improve their level of skill and knowledge
Assist the users will be required to maintain any local specific material for local process to support end user training
Store all documentation in a central repository
Assessments and drivers license
Projects
Ensure the project team is aware of the UL project methodology and follow through all the gates
Ensure roles and responsibilities are clarified
Provide input and guidance in process definition from the beginning
Assist with mapping of system process and integration
Execute Unit testing and IT
Assist User to do Acceptance Testing
Assist User with creation of training documentation
Assist User with execution of training
Assist with cut-over and go-live
Assist with intensive care post go-live
Ensure relevant process documentation is updated and centrally stored.
3rd Party Factory Systems
Design the Interface requirement
Maintain Interfaces between 3RD party systems and SAP ECC
Manage upgrades to the interface systems
SAP PLM
Maintain Interfaces between SAP PLM and SAP ECC
Manage upgrades to the interface systems
Training of End Users and On-boarding
Process Optimization
Work with PC/CL/EU to define adequate KPI’s to measure optimal system usage
Measure KPI’s
Work with End users, Process Champions and Capability Leads to Define actions plans to improve KPI’s
Measure improvements and Business Results
Authorizations:
Work with the Authorisation teams and End Users to define and test the appropriate authorization by role
Prepare cost-benefit and return-on-investment analyses to aid in decisions on system implementation.
PROFESSIONAL SKILLS:
Degree/Diploma in IT/ Engineering/ Operations or similar
Business process understanding
Problem solving skill – quickly identify the issues
Communication skill – be able to communicate with end user and IT Teams
Good ability to communicate in English
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
High SAP skills in relevant functional areas (minimum 3 years)
High proficiency in using related systems and handling daily business operations within functional area
Project management an advantage
Cross Functional experience an advantage

Ability to work collaboratively with other key stakeholders (business partnering)
