    Assistant Management Accountant

    Position Purpose

    •  Collating of information and investigation of variances against the budget in preparation of the monthly management reports
    •  Collection of data for the preparation of the annual operating and capital budget and consolidation thereof
    •  Co-ordination of minor works submission and collation of data for the preparation of viability models

    Position Outputs

    Environmental Manager

    Position Purpose

    • To lead and direct compliance to all environmental legislation, policies, procedures as well as international standards and guidelines in the port for TNPA operations and other port users/Lessees in line with the company’s strategic direction; as well as to fulfil the Authorities’ function in section 11(1) (g) (vi) of the National Ports Act, 12 of 2005: i.e. “To regulate and control pollution and the protection of the environment within Port Limits”

    Position Outputs

    • Lead all environmental activities in the Port by providing a comprehensive environmental support to the Port’s internal & external clients to facilitate legal compliance and ensure that environmental management principles & practices are entrenched and applied in the Port.
    • Ensure that the environmental Departmental budget is aligned to TNPA strategic direction and is also aligned to the port operational requirements
    • Manage the departmental overall performance indicator and make sure that the port environmental dashboard in terms of key performance areas is kept up to date.
    • Ensure that there is a planned systematic quantifying of aspects and impacts attached to any process or human activity aligned with port planning, development and operations that may result in pollution, environmental degradation or negatively affect the port’s biodiversity.
    • Lead Environmental Risk Management Strategy for the Port in accordance with ISO 14001 Standards and the Transnet Integrated Management System (TIMS), Port Environmental Authorisations, Port Environmental Management Plans and all applicable Legislative Requirements and Best Practices, which include but not limited to:
    • Lead the development of Port Core Procedures that are aligned to ISO14001 Standards and TIMS.
    • Lead business units in conducting environmental risk assessments and managing environmental risk exposures.
    • Lead business units in developing objectives and targets to mitigate environmental risks.
    • Lead awareness training in the Port to ensure that Port employees are conversant with the Port’s Environmental Management Processes.
    • Lead operational implementation of the Port’s Environmental Authorisations and associated Environmental Management Plans, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) and give input on development of Work Instructions
    • Review and update Waste Management Plan in line with the National Ports Act requirements in line with SOP’s and applicable legislation including Waste Act and Waste Tyre Regulations.
    • Lead environmental monitoring programmes which include but not limited to Alien Vegetation Management, Water Quality, Air Quality, etc.
    • Lead compliance to environmental requirements by all Contractors, Port Users and Port License Holders in line with Contractor Management and Port Oversight Protocols.
    • Lead environmental compliance audits which include but not limited to TNPA Oversight Audits on Licensed Terminal Operators and Licensees providing port services. Active involvement in preparation and participation during Legal Compliance .Audits
    • Lead monitoring to compliance which includes environmental incident management and follow ups, on emergency procedure awareness, non-conformances, and communication with relevant stakeholders as appropriate .
    • Lead the review of Environmental Management documents submitted as part of the SHE Files.
    • Provide environmental commentary on Environmental Impact Assessment Reports where the
    • Port (TNPA) is an Interested and Affected Party.
    • Implement Environmental Management System (EMS) to ensure compliance with
    • latest ISO 14001 Standard and TIMS Requirements.

    Chief Administrator: Lev 2: Desktop Supp

    Position Purpose

    • To install, support, maintain, analyse, evaluate and troubleshoot all the Information Technology hardware, software and desktop - server support in the port for the complete ICT environment thereby ensuring continued availability of these components forming a major part of the operations and profitability of the businesses.

    Position Outputs

    • Maintains inventory of computers and Peripherals.
    • Negotiates with outside vendors on contract fulfilment, obligations and dispatches IT Services staff and/or vendor representatives to resolve problems.
    • Manage IT projects as directed by IT Manager regarding upgrading, repairs and maintenance of ICT infrastructure.

    CCTV Operator

    Position Purpose

    • To conduct all activities associated with security control room operations which include the monitoring and administration of the CCTV system installed as well as conduct general

    Internship (Psychometrist)

    Position Purpose

    • Coordinate and administer psychometric assessments.     Dredging Master

    Position Purpose

    • Is in overall command of the vessel and highest authority at sea, ensuring that all international and local maritime laws and company policies are complied with thereby ensuring an effective, safe and efficient management of the vessel, crew, equipment and overall dredge program, allowing for optimal utilisation of the vessel.

    Position Outputs

    • Ensure compliance with the vessel's security plan as required by the International Maritime Organization.
    • Ensure that proper and accurate records are kept by the vessel in accordance with leqal requirements and company procedures
    • Ensure all aspects of the operation such as safe navigation, cleanliness, seaworthiness, management of all personnel and inventory of stores are complied with as well as maintaining the vessel's certificates and documents
    • Responsible and accountable for the implementation and compliance of all aspects, standards and practices regarding international, national and local maritime laws, promulgations and standard business practices.
    • Implement, direct, coordinate, evaluate and control the overall dredge operations, targets and methods of dredging to ensure a safe, efficient, effective and timeous completion of the dredging targets.
    • Implement and control the companies policies, rules and regulations with regards to business practices, general safety and adherence to discipline thereby ensuring effective management of the vessel.
    • Identify, implement and administer on board training programs for all deck personnel to ensure that there is sufficient training being conducted for skills migration.
    • Prepare and monitor voyage plans in accordance with standard marine practices ensuring a safe and expedient passage between ports.
    • Monitor and control planned maintenance and breakdowns in accordance with the fleet departments instructions, thereby ensuring maximum dredger availability.
    • As per IMO, State Flag and Local Maritime Laws and regulations; First and foremost: Safeguarding the Dredger and Crew by enforcing implementing directing, monitoring and evaluating subject standards and practices to ensure the overall safe operations of the dredger.
    • Responsible and accountable for the legal and practical Seaworthiness of the dredger, thus ensuring continued availability of the dredger for its intended Purpose. (The dredger may not leave the quay if it is not seaworthy) Managing and maintaining IMO, State Flag requirements as stipulated to ensure the vessel's certificates and documentation remain valid and in force.
    • Responsible and accountable for the implementation and compliance of all aspects, standards and practices regarding international, State Flag and local maritime laws, promulgations and standard business practices.
    • Implement, direct, coordinate, evaluate and control the overall dredge operations, targets and methods of dredging to ensure a safe, efficient, effective and timeous completion of the dredging targets.
    • Prepare and monitor voyage plans in accordance with standard marine practices ensuring a safe and expedient passage between ports.
