Derivco Cape Town is looking for a Software Developer Team Lead to manage a cross-functional team within our Half Pixel Studio. This is a great challenge for someone who has a detailed understanding of the SDLC, is passionate about leading people within an agile work environment and can execute on the vision and direction of the Head of Studio.
This role entails facilitating and guiding the studio’s development and testing team to ensure they successfully achieve business objectives by consistently delivering enjoyable, high quality games.

Portfolio is an established team of experienced and diverse business experts who are passionate about creating legendary gaming experiences. Our focus areas have expanded to include Game Design; responsible for evolving the product portfolio by way of introducing new and known game mechanics in compelling and innovative ways that will attract and entertain an even wider player audience.
In modifying and improving math of our existing library of games to support these product strategies the game design mathematician will be required to design and create new game experiences in a participative environment, collaborating with product owners, artists, software development and marketing teams to build and guide the player experience, trouble shoot implementation where necessary and provide support to math queries from concept through to launch.
Key responsibilities include creating statistical models to understand expected value, standard deviation and probability distribution of different game events and where science meets art - balancing the player experience to ensure the game creates excitement and entertainment for our players.
