    FA Superintendent Finance

    PURPOSE:

    To provide a full Financial Accounting function to Samancor in accordance with accepted Financial & Accounting policies and procedures.

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY:

    • Manage SHEQ compliance within the Section through effective use of the Toolbox
    • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status.

    PEOPLE:

    Manage the section:

    • Ensure an enabling climate/culture 
    • Manage labour in line with budget, HDSA and Female targets
    • Manage performance against targets and competencies
    • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
    • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
    • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, overtime, misconduct, lateness, etc.)
    • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
    • Conduct recruitment interviews.

    CUSTOMERS:

    • SAP (FI) Super User:
    • Administer and provide support for the SAP (FI) Module
    • Ensure Customer Satisfaction
    • Key Customers: Admin Manager, Plants, Mines, Head Office, Joint Venture partners, Fin & Admin staff

    BUSINESS PROCESSES:

    • Auditing (Internal and External):
    • Reduce number of audit findings
    • Enterprise-Wide Risk Management (EWRM):
    • Identify and manage risks.

    Financial Reports:

    • Compile Financial Reports.

    SOP’s:

    • Write, revise and review SOP’s.

    Six Sigma Projects:

    • Implement Six Sigma Projects

    GROWTH:

    • Identify CI opportunities of systems
    • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence.

    SHAREHOLDER VALUE:

    • Final Product:
    • Reconcile Final Product figures.

    Financial Processes:

    • Manage the Financial Management processes
    • CAPEX
    • Joint Ventures
    • Accounts Payable/Accounts Receivable

    Financial Management Accounting:

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • Degree or National Diploma
    • Valid Certificate of Fitness and First aid
    • Valid driver’s license

    Knowledge and Experience:

    • 6 years relevant experience, 2 years (but preferably 3 years) managerial experience 
    • Knowledge of SAP, BPC & MS Office will be advantageous.
    • Previous mining experience will be advantageous.

    Mining Shift Boss (Steelpoort)

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

    To supervise the cost-effective execution of all mining work ensuring the achievement of mining and quality targets and to ensure compliance of provisions of the Mine Health and Safety Act, Minerals Act and its Regulations.

    JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

    SAFETY, HEALTH, ENVIRONMENT AND QUALITY

    • Ensure SHEQ compliance within the Team through effective use of the toolbox
    • Utilise the Information Management System (IMS) to initiate, investigate and report SHEQ status

    BUSINESS PROCESSES 

    Supervise the Team:

    • Ensure an enabling climate/culture
    • Maintain labour stability by minimising labour turnover
    • Labour complement in line with budget 
    • Manage performance against set targets and competencies
    • Ensure IDP’s are linked to performance results and implemented as per plan
    • Conduct career discussions and implement actions with all identified talent (quarterly)
    • Ensure discipline is maintained (absenteeism, lateness, overtime, misconduct, etc.)
    • Coach and counsel people to ensure improved performance levels
    • Conduct recruitment interviews

    Mining:

    • Inspect all workings in area of responsibility as frequently as may be deemed necessary by the Mine Health and Safety Act
    • Inspect every working face blasted within 48 hrs
    • Inspect all other workings (not blasted) at least once a week at intervals not exceeding 10 days
    • Daily during shift inspection visit all miners under his charge and satisfy himself that work is proceeding safely under every mine section
    • Record findings in the logbook
    • Ensure adequate material is available for safe production. 
    • Measure blasted panels and plot on survey plan.

    Tactical Planning:

    • Monitor and control the Tactical Plan
    • Achieve Mining Budget

    • Shift Boss Certificate
    • Blasting Certificate
    • Minerals Act Regulation (15.1) appointment/acting will be an advantage
    • Shift Overseer Certificate (Mining) Will be an advantage

    Additional qualifications:

    • Medical fitness as per organisational requirements
    • Relevant Health and Safety Course 

    Required Experience:

    • At Least 5 years relevant experience in Mining, preferably 2-year supervisory experience

    Metallurgy Manager (North West)

    PURPOSE:

    Tlead the Metallurgy Team in the safe and cost-effective execution of all metallurgical, maintenance logistics processes ensuring high quality finished products.

    • Liaise with Mining and Engineering tensure effective and efficient process flow.

    GROWTH:

    • Manage Continuous Improvement through Operational Excellence
    • Develop growth opportunities in co-operation with Mineral Resources and Mining.

    Requirements

    MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS AND EXPERIENCE:

    • BSc / BTech Degree or NHD in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
    • At least 8 years’ Production experience
    • At least 3 years Managerial experience.
    • At least 3 years Mineral processing experience.

    Additional qualifications:

    • An MBA/MBL would be an advantage.

    Skills:
