    Duties

    Conduct sampling and measurement of cartridges:

    • To constantly conduct sampling and measurement of cartridges
    •  Record results during the manufacturing process and identify defects or non-conformance of products as early as possible in the process to minimize waste and ensure quality products to customers

    Standby duties as a Process Controller:

    • Assist the Process Controller during start-up and shutdown and do minor maintenance of the Rota-clip machine to ensure manufacturing efficiency of 85% of design capacity.

    Process efficiency:

    •  Safe and timeous preparation of gassing solution during the manufacturing of cartridge explosives thus ensuring production of less than 0.5% waste.
    •  Optimize productivity and quality
    •  Proactively plan for resources that may be needed during the shift to minimize downtime

    Adherence to sound SHERQ principles:

    •  Wear correct PPE
    •  Adhere to good housekeeping principles
    •  Constantly monitor the production process to ensure quality standards are met.

    Duties

    Effective evaluation of test results:

    •  To enable BME to make informed sourcing and operational decisions or to take appropriate corrective actions in case of deviations.

    Optimize fit for purpose initiating systems:

    •  Through development and continuous improvement interventions within own teams as well as in collaboration with third party manufacturers.

    Maintaining the IS Lab:

    •  Identifying information needs and problems; recommending improvements; establishing priorities; testing; writing user manuals; training employees; maintaining security and confidentiality.

    Responsible for implementing new programs:

    • Through conducting tests, developing new methods, instrumentation, and procedures by investigating alternatives; preparing proposals; developing and performing parallel testing; monitoring progress.

    Enabled and compliant plant delivery:

    •  Ensure that the resources allocated (people, process and material) are optimally utilized as expected to meet their daily/weekly targets.
    •  Optimize the Lab performance by recruiting qualified, well trained and experienced resources within agreed budget parameters.
    • Plan, organize and enable the Lab team to ensure that all required skills and tools/other resources are available as and when required in order to meet the target/schedule.
    •  To ensure that the training plans are implemented and managed for all team members in line with the plant’s day to day deliverables.
    • Ensure compliance to all legal and other safety procedures and processes as prescribed to minimize risks

    Duties

    • To co-ordinate, supervise and monitor all magazine activities using space and mechanical handling equipment efficiently and effectively to ensure operational objectives, targets and environmental standards and requirements are met.
    • To ensure the compliance of all magazine activities to standard operating procedures, regulation and legislation (this includes: receiving, putaway, picking, loading and cycle counts).
    • To complete vehicle pre-use checklists prior to loading and dispatching vehicles with product to ensure regulatory and legislative compliance.
    • To complete inventory cycle counts as per the schedule provided by the Stock Controller, and investigate all discrepancies.
    • To ensure that stock is stored in a planned and organized manner to maximize the efficient use of space (ensure floor to system matching), and

    FIFO management of stock.

    • To ensure effective housekeeping of the magazine/store and yard so that these areas are neat, tidy, safe and comply with all SHERQ and legislative requirements.
    • To ensure that the plants requirements in terms of raw materials, supply and storage of finished goods are met
