    Service Operator

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a Service Operator reporting directly to the Production Foreman. This is a Local role, based in Brits.

    You will adhere to safety regulation and specification standards required to assemble a tyre within the targeted cycle time.

    Responsibilities:

    •  Risk assessment of the equipment
    •  Wear provided PPE
    •  Maintain 3S in your work area
    •  Check all controls at the building machine are in good working order
    •  Remove empty spools, trolleys, rolls, et cetera from the machine
    •  Returns empties to component section
    •  Push viewed raw covers in to storage bays
    •  Supply solutac and solutions to machine
    •  Work in a team order
    •  Produce within a team the required target

    Requirements:  

    •  Minimum Grade 12 or N3 Certificate
    •  Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in building environment will be advantageous.

    Stock Controller

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a Stock Controller reporting directly to the Production Foreman. This is a Local role, based in Brits.

    Responsibilities:

    • Ensure quantity, sizes & order numbers are correct notifies management of short deliveries and discrepancies on registers/invoices marking of shelves neat storage of tyres and completion of tasks with a high level of accuracy.
    • Stock variances immediately reported;
    • Ensuring stock orders are correct;
    • Follow up on outstanding orders;
    • Conduct stock takes according to company policy;
    • Ensuring that stock is only released on stock-outs;
    • Ensure that old casings are received back;
    • Dispatch of tyres correctly and on time; handover of incorrect deliveries; correct storage of stock tyres;
    • Comparison of invoices and tyres for correctness
    • Stock to be kept in a clean and safe manner, including keeping the storeroom as tidy as possible.
    • Assist with capturing of job tickets
    • Ensure tyres that are sent to the factory are clearly marked with the Job Ticket Number it was issued with.
    • Follow up on outstanding job tickets
    • Ensure customer Tyres gets delivered as soon as possible
    • Maintain and update the stock/scrap register;
    • Correct procedure followed regarding scrapping of tyres;
    • Correct marking of customer details.
    • Checking & stamping of documentation;
    • Daily completion of daily stock takes sheets.

    Requirements:

    • Grade 12
    • Valid Code 08 Drivers License & PDP
    • Two years Driving experience
    • Self disciplined with high level of integrity
    • Good English verbal and written communication skill

    Mixer 2 Operator

    Job Purpose

    We are looking for a Mixer 2 Operator reporting directly to the Mixer Line Lead. This is a local role, based in Brits, North-West.
    You will play a critical role in the production process, as your duties form part of the first line of the production process in producing a tyre.

    Responsibilities:

    • Pre start up checks. Ensure preparation for production run by reviewing the production batch recipe. Download the recipe from the control screen. Identify the material that needs to be used for the job. Transfer that material unto the conveyor belt.
    • Start-up procedure. Start mixer and all other equipment to be used. Conduct safety checks, CL/CIL checks.
    • Operation. Scan the product ticket onto the system. Load the compound onto the conveyor belt. Verify product loaded by checking the mass on scale screen display. Transfer the batch onto the weigh station. Release thatch to the mixer. Communicate with Roller Die Operator that batch is in mixer.
    • Shut down procedure. Ensure to run mixer until pressure is on zero, this will mean that the current batch is run out. Lock out the mixer. Communicate with Roller Die that the mixer has been locked out.
    • Troubleshooting. Autonomous Maintenance for minor machine stops & CL/CIL/DH on equipment. Initial Problem Solving on recurring stops.
    • Housekeeping (3S). Perform housekeeping at loading area and the mixer. Clean display screens. Examine belt and conveyor.

     
    Requirements:

    • Grade 12 (Mathematics and Science) or equivalent NQF level qualification
    • Overhead Crane and Fork Lifting License
    • Knowledge of mixing process
    • Basic PLC trouble shooting

    Manufacturing Technician - Specialist

    Job purpose

    • To assist in ensuring plant availability and uptime by attending to equipment breakdown. Initiate and manage continuous improvement projects.
    • To perform various skilled, journey-level tasks in installation, maintenance, testing, and repair of electronic control systems and electrical systems. Electrical Technicians modify electrical prototypes in order to correct operational deviations under the general direction of an Electrical Engineer.

    Responsibilities
    Provide technical support and assistance to production and engineering

    • Provide support to production by attending to breakdowns
    • Troubleshooting and fault finding on electrical equipment of breakdowns
    • Complete job cards for every job done in accordance to Bridgestone standards
    • Participate and carry out root cause analysis for every breakdown and documenting corrective actions
    • Order Spares required to fix equipment breakdowns long term
    • Comply to all safety regulations as stipulated in the occupational health and safety act
    • Develop the technical skills of the electricians by training and mentoring on execution of basic electrical tasks
    • Identify when external contractor/vendor is needed, and work in collaboration with contractor/vendor to complete work
    • Identify, Initiate and manage small Continuous Improvement projects (Kaizen) and support engineering projects on site

    Carry out Preventive and Predictive Maintenance

    • Provide preventive and predictive maintenance of the electrical systems
    • Suggesting and implement continuous improvement ideas to improve machine reliability
    • Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily work reports outlining progress and new issues

    Assemble electrical and electronic systems and prototypes according to engineering data and knowledge of electrical principles, using hand tools and measuring instruments

    • Follow electrical practice when doing a job, always keeping safety in mind.
    • Use Correct Test Equipment

    Install and maintain electrical control systems and solid state equipment

    • Programming of PLC (Allen Bradley, Siemens), and Drives
    • Fault finding on PLC and Drives
    • SCADA & Motion

    Modify electrical prototypes, parts, assemblies, and systems to correct functional deviations

    • When a new system is implemented, it must work correctly with the existing system.
    • Update electrical drawings

    Analyse and interpret test information to resolve design-related problems

    • Get all information before making decisions or alterations

    Required Capabilities

    • Good knowledge of Programmable logic Controllers (PLC)

    Education

    • National Diploma or Degree in Electrical Engineering

    Experience

    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the electrical field on rotation machinery.
    • Minimum of 3 years experience in the tyre manufacturing and automotive industry will be an advantage.
