    Managing Executive: Platform Engineering

     

    Role Purpose

    • To align and deliver on the Vodacom SA strategic roadmap and technical capabilities in the Platform Engineering and Enterprise IT domain, leading the technical teams across all disciplines, aligned with the Tech2025 Group strategy, including the cloud transformation program.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include

    Financial management

    • Budget planning, budget rollout execution, supplier management, contract compilation & monitoring. Definition and implementation of ongoing cost efficiency (Smart IT) programs, to ensure that the overall run costs in the environment reduces year on year. Ensure robust business cases and forecasts on on-premise obsolescence, cloud transformation and Enterprise IT Capital Expenditure.

    Leadership & HR management

    • Define strategy aligned goals, lead the digital transformation within the Group, and the adoption of DevSecOps delivery practises, ensuring an engaged, purpose driven and motivated team. Ensure that there is a detailed upskilling and training plan, to ensure that all team members have the skills to perform their roles optimally. Build effective and constructive relationships with all of the key business stakeholders and leaders.

    Enterprise IT, application rollout & operations

    • Ensure delivery of all defined business outcomes, uncompromised delivery on all deliverables agreed in the Product Increment (PI), delivery of robust and performant technical solutions. Ensuring robust technical operation of all implemented solutions and systems (on-premises and cloud). Identify key operational automation opportunities, and the define the journey to AI driven operations. Ensure that the Enterprise IT domain and all its components, and “future proof” and “always on”. Ensure a robust and scalable IT Network, fully aligned with the cyber security baseline and super controls. Define and execute the cloud transformation strategy and address all obsolescence proactively.

    Strategy formulation & execution

    • Define a documented 3-year technical strategy for the Platform Engineering and Enterprise IT systems environment, ensure alignment with key business outcomes, ensure all technical designs are tightly aligned with the Tech2025 strategy and defined golden rules. Further to the technical strategy, a clear strategy around people and governance processes to be defined to ensure alignment with Tech2025 and build a fit for the future organisation.

    Governance & compliance

    • Ensure that technical solutions are compliant to all documented Vodacom policies, with specific focus on Cyber Security and business continuity, on a day-to-day basis. Ensure that Group operates in accordance with the adopted Vodacom standards (e.g., AGILE, ISO).

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    Must have technical/professional qualifications:

    • Degree / Diploma in Information Systems, Computer Sciences, Electrical Engineering (or similar tertiary qualification)
    • 10 – 12 years management experience, in a large-scale technical delivery domain, preferably in Platform Engineering and Enterprise IT disciplines.
    • Experience in Platform and Enterprise IT technical architecture, operation and delivery.
    • Detailed knowledge of Platform and Enterprise IT products and design methodologies.
    • Detailed knowledge of cloud-based platform engineering and design architectures and toolsets.
    • Proven record of leading large-scale operational team, across various IT disciplines.

    Core Competencies, Knowledge And Experience

    • People leadership and management of large teams, working in accordance with DevSecOps practices, aligned with robust Vodacom operational methodologies.
    • Management of large scale complex technical transformations, from on-premise to public cloud-based technologies, IT network modernisation and full alignment to the Vodacom cyber security baseline and super controls.
    • Knowledge and proven implementation of Enterprise IT (OIT) delivery, including management of an IT network.
    • Platform Engineering strategy, tooling & products design and implementation, both on-premises and in cloud.
    • Management of technical operations, in a large-scale on-premises and cloud-based data and analytics technical environment. This includes alignment of operations to DevSecOps principles and AI Driven operations.

    Digital Sales and Content | Development

    Role Purpose

    • The e-commerce team is looking for a creative and skilled Website Content Creator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing content strategies, ensuring high-quality content that engages and informs our target audience across the Vodacom.co.za domain. This incumbent will work closely with other members of the e-commerce team to develop content strategies that support our brand and business objectives. The ideal candidate should have a keen eye for detail, a creative mindset, and a strong understanding of digital marketing.

    Your Responsibilities Will Include

    • Develop content that aligns with our brand voice and resonates with our target audience.
    • Write and edit website copy, including landing pages, product descriptions, blog posts, and other marketing materials.
    • Collaborate with the web designer and e-commerce team to create visual assets that support website content.
    • Collaborate with other teams, including digital marketing, CVM, and GTM Terminals teams, to ensure that website content supports their efforts.
    • Work closely with the CVM team to drive BTL AOL and upgrade campaigns.
    • Optimize website content for search engines (SEO) to improve visibility and drive improvements to organic traffic
    • Use analytics tools to Monitor website performance to track content performance and make data-driven decisions to improve website traffic and engagement
    • Manage content calendars, editorial schedules, and deadlines to ensure that content is delivered on time. This will include input into both radio and digital marketing activities.
    • Conduct regular audits of the website's content and structure to ensure that it meets quality standards and is optimized for search engines
    • Conduct thorough research to identify industry related content trends that will appeal to our target audience and help drive traffic and engagement
    • Work with stakeholders to identify opportunities for improvement in relationships and processes.
    • Copywriting and proofreading for new and existing webpages and journeys

    The Ideal Candidate For This Role Will Have

    • Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Marketing, or a related field
    • 2+ years experience in the website copy writing & content creation/ campaign management.
    • OR
    • Minimum of 5 years’ experience essential in an agency or web/digital environment with direct exposure to copywriting or content creation.

    Technical Knowledge

    • Knowledge of prevalent development practices, techniques and tools.
    • Exceptional understanding of fundamental design principles (typography, layout, grid systems, hierarchy, colour, composition).
    • Industry knowledge pertinent to portfolio.

    Job Knowledge

    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to create clear, concise, and engaging content for a diverse audience
    • Strong understanding of web design principles and user experience best practices
    • Knowledge of SEO best practices and experience optimizing website content for search engines
    • Attention to detail, excellent proofreading and QA skills.
    • Experience with content management systems (CMS) such as WordPress or Drupal
    • Familiarity with Google Analytics or other website analytics tools
    • Experience working in a digital environment, eCommerce (advantageous).
    • Deep understanding of customer segmentation, business requirements, customer insights and online personas to ensure that content addresses all these needs
    • Excellent organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
