    Production Support Analyst

    Job description

    • The support analyst will work closely with the business analysts, development teams, business users, Project teams and the vendors to manage any incidents & requests occurring within the production environment.
    • The relevant individual must be prepared to deal with 1st and 2nd line production support queries every single day, before escalation to development or infrastructure; i.e. he/she must be able to fix any system or application related problems themself, before any form of escalation.
    • The candidate’s focus will be to support all JSE & Information Service Provider (ISP) applications e.g. Reuters, Bloombergs, Talx, Murex, Calypso, etc.
    • It will include applying the solutions /upgrades implemented in UAT & Production, to our Disaster Recovery (DR) environment and ensuring that procedures are documented and valid, while proactively enhancing the overall performance of the operating platform.
    • Vendor and Client Relationship management i.e. liaising with users, project managers, business analysts, developers and application support.
    • Resolve production requests & incidents.
    • Understand business processes/workflow and system integration.
    • Roll-out of system enhancements and fixes to UAT, Production and DR environment.
    • Request and Incident reporting
    • Analyze incident reports to determine underlying causes of issues and to determine ways in which to proactively prevent their reoccurrence (User training, system enhancements, process reengineering etc.).
    • Document resolutions & procedures for knowledge management purposes.
    • Manage application specific disaster recovery documentation
    • Perform technical & user testing on behalf of the business units.

    GM Quantitative Analyst (with C# / Java and SQL experience)

    Job description

    Critical Performance Areas:

    • The successful candidate will have the following critical performance areas:
    • Constructing and/or critically analysing financial models (eg: product pricing, curve stripping, scenario analysis)
    • Process-design, -analysis, -testing, development and –troubleshooting in pricing/risk-analysis
    • Systems-capability/fit analysis in the area of pricing/risk-analysis
    • Implementing production-ready, supportable applications which comply with agreed upon standard
    • Assisting in product-implementations with the responsibility for validating/constructing pricing and scenario-analysis

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Mathematical, actuarial, physics or engineering tertiary degree would be suitable
    • C# / Java coding experience
    • Experience with SQL and No-SQL databases
    • Experience implementing numerical methods an advantage

    Competencies Required:

    • The successful candidate must have exceptional problem-solving and analytical abilities, related to the technology providing risk/pricing solutions (process-design, testing methods, model-coding, troubleshooting, and capability-analysis).
    • S/he must be able to function independently, as well as work well in a team. S/he will need excellent communication- and planning-skills, required to effectively extract business requirements (by, for example, sitting with a trader to understand a mathematical/risk-analytical problem) and convert into suitable analysis and development tasks, as well as to communicate between stakeholders (user, developer, desk head). Some measure of fearlessness/assertiveness and persistence is required to do this efficiently in a front-office environment.
    • S/he will need to be able to drive projects, and effectively manage dependencies on other areas of the bank
    • S/he will need the ability to interpret (and create where needed) functional specifications / use-case diagrams / user stories to assist the developers in creating solutions (following an accepted standard (UML))
