    Microbiologist

    Position Summary

    • Nestlé has over 308 000 employees worldwide. More than being the world’s number one food and beverage brand, we’ve successfully launched, and sustained, hundreds of thousands of careers. We’re now looking for a Microbiologist to join our team at the Harrismith Factory.

    Main Purpose

    • The Microbiologist assists the Food Safety Specialist with the activities in the hygiene activities  (sampling, dispatch & result reporting, managing GMP facilities & supporting line sample samplers).

     

    A day in the life of a Microbiologist:

    Quality System:

    • Define and update the specific microbiological procedures, instructions and pathogen monitoring plan for the site       

         

    Analytical methods and tests for environment, lines & finished product:

    • Proficiency in carrying out the Microbiological tests according to standard procedures and work instructions.
    • Responsible for the quality control plan of the equipment under their responsibility including calibration.
    • Responsible fo dispatch of Lines, environment & finished product
    • Responsible for interpreting results and for reproducibility and repeatability of analyses
    • Responsible to challenge and support NQAC with GSTD related to analytical deviations
    • Initiate and drive RCA related to microbiological deviation

                                 

    Results reporting:

    • Timely reporting of consolidated results and trends to the functions concerned (Initiate projects and campaign related to microbiology)
    • Trending NQAC performance and driving improvement projects

                     

    What will make you successful

    • 1 year experience in related fireld
    • Bachelors degree/diploma in Food Technology, Microbiology and related field

    Medical Delegate Nutrition

    Position Summary

    • To achieve targeted sales of Nestlé Health Science (NHS) products in his/her territory by ensuring favorable recommendation by Health Care Professionals (HCPs), representing Nestlé Health Science (NHS) in the market as a trusted advisor in the field of Clinical Nutrition in order to become the leading consumer preferred and trusted Nutrition Solution provider for health-related needs in the ZAR +5 Market. Contribute to reaching the target set for the business (NPS, OG, profitability and market share).

    A day in the life of...

    A Nestle Health Sciences Medical Delegate:
    Product and concept detailing in the assigned territory

    • Apply Professional Selling Skills at an advanced level and use the appropriate product, concept knowledge and research to detail the NHS range to HCPs.

    Territory management

    • Seek and build strategic relationships with key contacts who can facilitate business development
    • Identify opportunities for new business and ensure satisfactory level of service 
    • Plan and execute coverage by means of a regularly updated call cycle, maintain cycle detailing and all other marketing/promotional strategies as per management direction.

    Account management

    • Maintains an updated, detailed master list of all contacts (as required by CRM system) and classify/grade them based on objective criteria (as defined by management) to establish importance and visiting frequency.
    • Timely feedback regarding possible orders to ensure adequate forecasting and stock availability (12-week lead time taken into consideration) and managing customer expectations in this regard.

    Budgeting and reporting

    • Provides a weekly call plan to his/her manager and records information on all visits/activities, sample distribution, support literature provided etc. in the CRM system daily.

    Compliance

    • Adhere to all Nestlé policies and internal regulations
       

    What will make you successful

    • B/BSc Dietetics degree holder with relevant experience in Nutrition
    • Previous experience as a Medical Delegate or a representative in the pharmaceutical industry will be a benefit.
    • Must be fluent in both Afrikaans and English (non-negotiable)
    • Must have a valid/unendorsed driver’s license
    • Must have good planning, organizing, communication and negotiation skills
    • Must be able to work independently
    • Must be willing to travel (including trips away from home)
    • Computer literate, MS Office. MS Excel
    • Experience with virtual engagement

    Medical Delegate Nutrition - Western Cape

    Position Summary

    • The Medical Delegate will be responsible for ethically and science based building the image of and the role of Nestle Infant and Maternal Nutrition products in the 1st 1000 days, with Health Care Professionals and institutions, within a specified territory, in order to compliantly drive recommendation/advocacy /prescriptions for these products.

     

    A day in the life of...

    A Medical Delegate:

    • Compliance: Using the Code Management system for the specific market as the guiding document for all daily activities, to assist the leadership team to ensure that all activities within the team and region, comply with the WHO International Code for the marketing of Breastmilk substitutes, Nestle Instructions and the local Code.    
    • Advocacy: Ensure increased advocacy towards Nestle Infant Nutrition and Maternal products and Nestle Nutrition services, when detailing to HCP’s and calling in HCI, through applying the acquired skills; incorporating the knowledge of Nestle and competitor products, the territory dynamics and HCP profile in the discussion with the HCP and also contribute to long-term, mutually beneficial relationships during these interactions.
    • Manage the assigned territory as per the requirements and guidelines set for Master data management/ HCP classification/ HCP and HCI segmentation, master schedule planning, HCP call rate, call strike rate, HCP surveys and gathering of data for insights that can drive the marketing- and territory action plans.
    • The creation and execution of a territory specific action plan to contribute to the outputs required by the national- and regional business plans.
       

    What will make you successful

    • Science related degree with Physiology/ Nutrition/ Medicine/Biology/ Pharmacology/Nursing/Food Sciences or other Human- or Nutrition science related field.
    • 2-3 years’ post community service experience as a Medical Delegate/Dietician/ Nutritionist.
    • Fluent in both English and Afrikaans (non-negotiable) and the locally acceptable languages
    • Valid Driver’s license,
    • Pharmaceutical experience (Ideal)
    • Can work in a multi-disciplinary team, can interact with people at different levels.
    • Be able to work in a team and independently.
