    Classified Telesales Representative -- WP Media (Belville)

    Media24 requires the services of an experienced Telesales Representative in their Classifieds Advertising Sales Department. This person will be based in Bellville.

    RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Selling of classified advertisements (TygerBurger) through the daily generation of new business.
    • Canvassing for advertisements in the classifieds section of the newspaper;
    • Liaising with clients with regard to the design, layout and placing of advertisements;
    • Stimulating the market by creating new opportunities to satisfy clients’ advertising needs.

    JOB REQUIREMENTS

    • Matric.
    • Good typing/spelling skills.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Good language skills – fluent in Afrikaans and English.
    • Good telephone etiquette.
    • 1 year’s experience in the media industry is an advantage.
    • 1 year’s sales experience is essential.

    Senior Marketing Analyst

    New Media, a division of Media 24, has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Marketing Analyst.  

    This role is for a 4-month contract and is focused on presenting insights to the business, while managing all research and analytics requests.   

    The role has three core areas of responsibility:

    • Reporting and insights

    Building dashboards to track performance, derive insights, understand growth levers and communicate recommendations via presentations to stakeholders. This includes:

    • Regular campaign reports
    • Monthly reviews of brand reports
    • Quarterly updates of competitor sets
    • Ad hoc analytics & insights requests
    • Ad hoc research requests

    Team management and mentoring

    • Plan and manage performance, skills development, talent and culture of the team in order to improve innovation, achieve efficiencies and increase competencies.

    Research

    • Conduct and present high quality, thorough and thoughtful research and where appropriate innovative new ideas and approaches. 

    We require a candidate with:

    • +5 Years applicable experience in a senior analytical role
    • Experience working within an insights team in a media agency
    • People management experience
    • Good grasp of tools such as Microsoft Excel, Google Sheets, Looker Data Studio, Google Analytics, Nielsen Clear Decisions
    • Excellent analytical and presentation skills

    Editor- DIY & Industrial Trade News

    New Media is looking for a highly proficient editor to lead one of our B2B titles' editorial and commercial initiatives. In this position, you will work closely with the sales team and advertisers. If you have an interest DIY retail, manufacturing and the industry in general and are looking for opportunities to engage meaningfully with a niche B2B audience, then this could be the position for you.

    Responsibilities include:

    • Produce the magazine according to the deadlines set out in the production schedule
    • Prepare annual and monthly editorial plans and budget-based pagination
    • Prepare a monthly editorial progress report
    • Write articles that are relevant and newsworthy for your audience
    • Prepare an annual plan of industry events that the publication team should attend
    • Attend launches, seminars, conferences etc
    • Liaise with advertising, marketing, circulation, production and publicity departments
    • Attend client meetings with sales executives when required
    • Develop and manage profitable brand extensions
    • Work in close partnership with the publisher to promote and enhance the magazine
    • Make media and public appearances
    • Monitor current events to ensure the magazine reflects changing moods, needs and tastes
    • Implement ideas to increase the registered readers and subscribers
    • Make the magazine the best in its field, with a strong brand image

     Requirements:

    • 4+ years of demonstrated progressive editorial experience
    • A degree / diploma qualification in journalism, media or similar
    • Exceptional communication and negotiation skills
    • Understanding of advanced business to business strategies
    • Ability to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
