• Intercare Medfem Hospital (Pty) Ltd situated in Bryanston, Sandton is recruiting for a Registered Nurse Scrub (Theatre). The purpose of the position is to perform all nursing duties in accordance to the scope of practice as prescribed by the South African Nursing Council, while adhering to all facility policies and procedures.

CRITICAL OUTPUTS

• Conduct pre-operative assessments to ensure that the patient is fully informed about the risks and benefits, and that they are in optimal health for the surgery.
• Prepare all the necessary instruments and equipment for the procedure.
• Work alongside the surgeon, providing instruments, needles, swabs and other materials as required, and be able to anticipate their requirements.
• Have a role in the promotion of health and safety and be responsible for ensuring that surgical instruments, equipment and swabs are all accounted for throughout the surgical procedure.
• Assess patients’ condition after a surgery has been performed.
• Perform intervention duties in cases of post-operative emergencies.
• Administer post-op medication as per prescription
• Actively maintain stock management processes.
• Ensure that the disposal of Medical waste, human tissue and medicine is in accordance to OHS Regulations.

REQUIREMENTS

• Grade 12
• 2-3 years experience as a Scrub Nurse
• 2-3 years experience in Recovery
• SANC Registration as Registered Nurse
• Post basic qualification in Operating Theatre Technique advantageous
• Computer proficiency (MS Office) advantageous

• Intercare Tygervalley Sub-Acute Hospital (Pty) Ltd situated in Bellville, seeks an ambitious, talented, goal-driven and self-motivated individual to fulfill the role of Unit Manager. The purpose of the position is to co-ordinate all the functions and activities related to the provision, promotion and assurance of quality of patient care, excellent service to doctors, visitors and support services in a cost effective manner as well as motivating, supporting and optimising staff performance and education so that an optimum contribution is made to the successful functioning of the unit.

REQUIREMENTS

• Diploma in General Nursing / BCur Degree
• Registered with SANC as a Registered Nurse
• At least 3 years’ experience in a senior or shift leader role
• Previous experience within a Sub-Acute environment will be advantageous
• Computer literacy is essential
• Excellent clinical nursing skills, ability to lead subordinates to achieve objectives, conflict  management, performance orientation and teamwork
