• MSc in Animal Nutrition / Production (Preferred)
• BSc in Animal Nutrition / Production (Minimum)
• A minimum of 5 years' experience within Animal feed manufacturing/sales/formulation/lab
• Formulation software experience (Preferably FORMAT)
• Must be computer literate.
• Must be fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Quarterly cost formulations as determined by the Formulations Manager (Formulation SOP)
• Monthly formulations, after the standard cost is set (Formulation SOP)
• Monthly formulation – reformulation and emergency formulation (Formulation SOP)
• Evaluation of Raw Materials and Specifications
• Evaluate opportunity ingredients with the formulation department.
• Raw Material Matrix update
• Include and distribute files after each formulation run.

Minimum Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years' experience within a feed mill environment
• Experience in commercial animal production and management. Necessary nutritional experience in monogastric feed
• Sound knowledge of laboratory methods for the analyses of animal feed.
• Meticulous and analytical competency
• Must be computer literate.
• Good people skills.
• Must be fully bilingual (English and Afrikaans)

Duties and Responsibilities    

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Management of the complete quality control system at the feed mill.
• Motivate, train, and manage the personnel in the quality team.
• Ensure complete traceability with implementation of quality control measures for raw materials and finished feed.
• In-process quality control on raw materials and finished feed to ensure compliance
• Assist the production, formulation, and procurement teams to ensure that cost effective feed of perfect quality is delivered on-farm consistently.
• Record control for the quality control process for internal traceability and external requirements
• Leader of the Quality / Feed Safety team to ensure ISO and GMP compliance.
• Financial management with the evaluation of current /new raw materials and/or final feed
• Technical support to the sales team and customers to better customer service, investigate concerns and increase on-farm production and profitability.

Job Advert Summary    

The successful candidate will be responsible to conduct routine maintenance and repairs at the Bloemfontein Distribution Centre, to ensure overall functionality and safety of the facilities, as well as to ensure that the load bodies and truck maintenance are up to standard.

Minimum Requirements    

• Grade 12
• Proven experience as a handyman
• Welding certificate
• Experience in Plumbing-, Electrical-, and Truck repairs (including load bodies)
• Strong knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Ability to work independently and to prioritise tasks.
• Be able to work overtime, and weekends.

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Conducting of routine maintenance and repairs at the Distribution Centre.
• Responding to maintenance requests
• Ensuring the overall functionality and safety of the facilities.
• Ensure that load bodies and truck maintenance are up to standard.

• BCom degree.

• Identify, develop, and document audit issues and recommendations.
• Discusses implementation dates of recommendations with the client.
