    Job Purpose

    Job Responsibilities

    • Create a competitive and commercially successful function through understanding competitor activity and leveraging opportunities.
    • Establish and drive the business strategy of the function. Ensuring commercial soundness and relevance through end to end Financial Management. Consistently met all goals and targets.
    • Deliver all project portfolios relating to the implementation of IT projects per the project methodology and strategy.
    • Ensure structures to drive high performance and delivery across project portfolios.
    • Establish project metric to drive project benefits harvesting and delivery and drive compliance to project governance and methodology.
    • Be accountable for implementation of programme and project governance.
    • Work with key Group Technology (GT) or business stakeholders to cost or define a costed and/or prioritised programme of systems development that supports the organisation's objectives and strategic plans and communicate information about the agreed programme to GT and the business.
    • Create a climate of cross-organisational cooperation . Lead a functional team and a matrix structure through establishing a clear direction and building critical mass support.
    • Understand and influence the client strategic view in relation to their portfolio and participate in building appropriate rolling three year plan.
    • Facilitate three-year GT strategic plan.
    • Ensure appropriate client collaboration occurs and drive the implementation components of the GT strategy with each client set, to obtain traction against the overall Group IT Strategy per relevant Cluster.
    • Make recommendations to the business on how to align IT Investment to address both strategic demands and operational challenges within the Clusters.
    • Enable achievement of functional/Business Unit objectives by providing recommendations on Group IT Strategy to Architecture, per relevant client and where appropriate.
    • Ensure alignment and achievement of strategy and create a completive advantage by translating the Nedbank and Business Unit strategy into a customised Divisional strategy.
    • Develop and introduce a people strategy that will create a culture that drives the Cluster and Nedbank's vision and values. Build a high performance team.
    • Ensure that the leadership agenda has been embraced by the division/function.
    • Manage performance of reports and hold them accountable for managing the performance of their reports.
    • Actively build a culture of improvement.
    • Participate in the recruitmentof senior staff. Optimise performance and motivation.
    • Empower team to make decisions and recommend tailored solutions to Business Unit specific problems.
    • Ensure effective tactical processes and workflows are in place to drive effective and efficient service or product delivery.
    • Support functional area delivery by building and sustaining the core capability required.
    • Ensure alignment to governance and compliance requirements.
    • Establish the change management capability as a core enabler of project or portfolio management.
    • Ensure change management requirements are understood. Optimise systems and process.
    • Establish and oversee the operation of systems and procedures for monitoring and reporting on the progress of systems development.
    • Deal with exceptions, problems and unforeseen events in a timely manner.
    • Ensure that new systems developments are compatible with the existing systems, architecture and strategic plans. Ensure that systems development projects are carried out in accordance with the agreed standards and methods.

    Essential Qualifications - NQF Level

    • Advanced Diplomas/National 1st Degrees
    • Matric / Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate

    Essential Certifications

    • PMBOK ITIL Formal certification from relevant professional bodies

    Home Loans Sales Consultant - Cape Town

    Job Purpose

    • To increase client base and fulfil clients sales and service needs through the mobile channel in line with Nedbank's strategic goals.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Acquire new business by selling Nedbank products to newly identified companies and their staff.
    • Fetch new business outside of the established branch channel, through mobile capability.
    • Assist companies with financial firness programmes for their staff.
    • Identify new sales opportunities through engaging the employees of newly identified companies and the communities these companies operate in.
    • Meet company's and their staff's financial needs by conducting needs analysis.
    • Build relationships with internal stakeholders to ensure team collaboration, sales and service support and mining new opportunities.
    • Build and maintain external relationships with extenal companies to ensure client service and future sales opportunities.
    • Build and maintain internal relationships to ensure internal sales support from Retail; Relationship and Business Banking to fulfull any opportunities that potentially grows from regular client engagements.

    • Proven cold calling success track record.

    Risk Manager - Johannesburg

    Job Purpose

    • To develop and monitor the implementation of the Operational Risk Management Framework in Nedbank and its subsidiaries to comply to regulatory requirements and ensure alignment to international best practice.

    Job Responsibilities

    • Deliver on the Group Operational (GOR) Enterprise-wide Risk Management (ERM)strategies and annual business plans are  aligned to regulatory requirements (BASEL, Banks Act) and take corrective action, where necessary.
    • Provide input into the enhancement of the Operational Risk Management Framework (ORMF), methodologies, policies, processes.
    • Improve the effectiveness and relevance of internal and external loss operational risk data.
    • Monitoring of change initiatives to ensure that digital transformation risks are adequately managed. Monitoring and remediation of internal and external audit issues
    • Provide assurance on the adequacy and effectiveness of controls within the cluster
    • Monitor operational resilience to ensure continuity of operations in the event of a crisis
    • Review outcome of operational risk practices of stakeholders.
    • Monitor and analyse major operational risk losses and control breakdowns.
    • Identify regulatory changes and potential future operational risk impacts.
    • Monitor and assess digital risk and propose suitable controls.
    • Provide business with guidance, support and advise on risk related matters.  
    • Ability to engage with Risk counterparts across the bank on matters requiring collaborative effort.
    • Understanding of the emerging risks and their impact in the businesses being supported 
    • Compile and/or provide input into internal operational risk reports and external disclosures.
    • Engage with stakeholders to obtain an understanding of their operational risk practices to contract, manage and meet expectations.

    • Use budget allocation effectively. Review Nedbank and Business Unit Plan and ensure delivered systems, process, services and solutions are aligned to support the achievement of the business strategy, objectives and values.
    • Share operational risk related knowledge, resources and practices with team to enable upskilling.
    • Obtain buy-in for developing new and/or enhanced processes that will improve the functioning of stakeholders' businesses.
