    PURPOSE OF POSITION: Leading a store team to meet business KPIs including driving sales, cost control,  mitigating risks and stock loss, administration and ensuring world class store standards. 

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Increase sales by focusing on customer service and world-class store standards, maintenance of the store image, stock management and promotional implementation
    • Stock loss is minimised by having a healthy store culture and following security measures, stock and cash handling procedures.

    Assistant Financial Manager

    PURPOSE OF THE JOB 

    To ensure that all financial information and reporting needed is reliable and can be used for optimal decision-making.  

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 

    • Ensure accurate and timeous monthly, quarterly and year end management and statutory reporting
    • Produce quarterly Divisional MD Report detailing business performance
    • Maintain, monitor and update the Divisional finance calendar to deliver the relevant financial reporting
    • Identify, investigate and implement improvements to the reporting process
    • Take overall responsibility for driving the Group budgeting process and preparing the final budget submissions
    • Take overall responsibility for driving the Divisional forecasting process
    • Manage and drive the process, timing and final consolidation of the Divisional three year plan
    • Identify financial and accounting trends, anticipate risks and legislative changes  and timeously highlight implications  for the business 
    • Enable and facilitate stakeholder relationships internally and externally
    • Overview and finalisation of Annual Financial Statements (BLNE entities)
    • Balance sheet reconciliation reviews
    • Payments authorisation on bank
    • Share specialist knowledge and create collaborative relationships within Pepkor divisions where necessary

    Requirements

    JOB INCUMBENT REQUIREMENTS 

    • Qualified and registered member of the Institute Of Chartered Accountants, CA(SA)
    • Minimum of 3 years general accounting experience including financial and group reporting, preferably  in the retail industry 
    • Proven and applied knowledge of management accounting and reporting
    • Knowledge of retail and related KPIs and measurements
    • Business and commercial acumen
    • Service orientated and able to build and manage good interpersonal relations 
    • High levels of computer literacy, advanced excel and/or Google Sheets is essential
    • Experience with SAP beneficial
    • Attention to detail and working accurately is essential
    • Presentation and good communication skills
    • Ability to engage with, influence and guide business decision-makers 
    • Analytical and conceptual skills
    • Proactive and shows initiative

    National DC Manager

    Purpose:

    • To cost effectively, manage and coordinate the financial and operational performance of the four distribution centers in Pep.

    Key Responsibilities 

    • Develop a warehousing and distribution strategy for Pep as aligned with the broader supply chain strategy 
    • Reduce costs and increase efficiency and effectiveness in all the distribution centers and hubs
    • Interpret the Merchandise seasonal plans to ensure efficient inflow, storage and distribution of products
    • Ensure long term Distribution capacity on resources and people
    • Build strong relationships with the Buying and Planning departments, upstream and downstream supply chain departments, as well as external service providers 
    • Facilitates a Distribution Centre culture with values and principles in line with the Pep culture

    Requirements

    Required Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

    • Relevant tertiary qualification
    • A qualification in logistics management will be an advantage
    • 5-7 years management experience in a warehousing environment (FMCG / Retail or Manufacturing)
    • Good understanding of Buying and Planning processes
    • Proficiency in MS Office (with special focus on Excel)
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; Problem assessment and –solving skills; good time-management and planning skills; Confidence and decisiveness; able to cope under pressure.
    • Willing to travel
