    Logistics Coordinator (International) - Losberg

    Overview    

    • This role is responsible to receive orders from internal and external clients/stakeholders, to order materials from suppliers, to effectively process orders by entering data on systems, prepare documentation for customs/transporters in order to ensure that exports are made efficiently. 

    Qualifications    

    • Diploma/Certificate in Logistics & Supply Chain or Transport Management

    Advantageous Requirements:

    • Project Management

    Experience    

    • 3 years demonstrated experience as a Logistics coordinator
    • Proven experience in a Warehouse or Logistics environment

    Duties    
    Stock management

    • Monitor stock levels from plants and sites daily utilizing the electronic stock management system and/or manually to ensure that global customer demands can be met on a timely basis and optimal stock level can be maintained
    • To receive orders from clients, scheduling deliveries, and ensuring that products are received on time
    • To work collaboratively with the Logistics Control Center to plan, schedule and co-ordinate inbound and outbound transportation of raw materials, daily stock levels, inventory control and final products between warehouses, plants, and to the ultimate point of consumption

    Administration

    • To administer, process and audit all international transport requirements (export and import permits, clearance certificates), associated costs and documentation to ensure adherence to the operational plans
    • To track, monitor and review any deviances from operational plan, and to identify opportunities for continuous improvement
    • To assist with ad hoc tasks, oversee and provide support on projects/initiatives as required in order to enhance the logistics and/or Supply Chain value chain

    Compliance

     

    • To ensure that all the regulatory and legislative requirements within the department/remit thus ensuring effective management of SHERQ and adherence to stipulated disciplines for continuous improvement of occupational Safety, Health, Environment, Risk and Quality

    Client Liaison

     

    • To develop and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders and provide logistic advice and/or operational support (i.e. liaise with Country Managers, assist with import permits, etc.) to enhance the BME brand
    • To work collaboratively with other departments to integrate logistics with business systems or processes, such as customer sales, order management, accounting, or shipping

    Job Competencies

    • Knowledge of distribution principles
    • Knowledge of business, processes, resource allocation, monitoring, reviewing, identification of gaps techniques

    • Knowledge of relevant legislative and regulatory requirements, as well as understanding of standard contractual terms (SLA's)
    • Knowledge of relevant national and cross-border regulatory requirements
    • Working knowledge of road transportation regulations

    Duties    
    Strategy:

    • Setting up KPIs for the plant in line with business objectives.
    • Create clarity on goals and objectives.
    • Create team and ensure goal alignment.
    • Use visual management system to monitor and control KPIs.

    Feedback:

    • Report on department performance to Snr Manager Operations
    • Report on department performance to employees
    • Perform quarterly management reviews
    • Promote and facilitate an open and inclusive environment

    Budget Control:

    • Responsible for OPEX expenditure
    • Initiate and promote cost reduction projects

    Critical Decision Making:

    • Making final decisions on escalated situations from superintendents (e.g. safety, quality, IR, HR)

    Long term sustainable projects:

    • Plan and initiate
    • Implement and sustain ISO standards
