    Forklift Driver

    Job Description

    • In this role you will be responsible to operates forklift and using RF Scanner where appropriate, is responsible for the safe and accurate moving of stock either from trucks to warehouse storage bins or in the production area or from storage bins in warehouse to loading bays and then onto trucks for delivery. Carries out procedures in the operational areas as required.

    A day in the life of a Forklift Driver:

    • Move raw materials from storage to production areas.
    • Capture and monitor all movements at source on the SAP system.
    • Take samples from bins, VF and Tower for sensory and chemical test to be performed.
    • Record/ declare semi-finished product of all bins through QMS.
    • Participate in hourly sensory session created and input results through SEMS.
    • Record production and stoppages on Stoppage Analysis Module (SAM).
    • Daily inspection of the condition of empty tote bins before use.
    • Assists with bin stock counts and any ad hoc duties as may be assigned by superiors.
    • Maintain a safe working behavior in compliance with the local laws striving for Zero accidents.
    • Participate in a continuous improvement/employee involvement culture through NCE approach.
    • Performs daily and weekly inspection of forklift as per checklist and recharges or refuels as appropriate.
    • Assists with routine maintenance and hygiene procedures where the use of a forklift is required.
    • Assists with bin stock counts and any ad hoc duties as may be assigned by superiors.
    • In the absence of the Niro Operator the in-line analyst must Operate lines and monitor / records operational parameters & initiates corrective action, and all Niro Operator activities.
    • During tower blockages inline analyst must assist the Niro operator in unblocking the chamber.
    • Remove all sweepings/ rework bags.
    • Report all abnormalities/ breakdowns through tagging system and inform the Team Leader or engineering.
    • Any other duties as assigned from time to time.

    What will make you successful?

    • Matric Certificate
    • 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing environment.
    • Valid Forklift License.
    • Experience operating Forklift essential.

    Raw Material Coordinator

    Job Description

    • In this role you will be responsible to plan, execute, & oversee all activities connected with the inventory control, effective safe handling, storage & transportation of all materials from point of arrival through to assembly of orders ready for dispatch in correct quantity, time & condition to ensure that factory operates at maximum efficiency. Liaise closely with immediate superior, purchasers and relevant external parties.

    A day in the life of a Raw Materials Coordinator:

    Resources (People and Forklifts)

    • Direct and manage the daily operations and ensure output based on daily volume.
    • Direct and manage the re-assigning of resources with consultation of the warehouse manager, if required to increase daily  output
    • Ensure efficient utilization of resources, equipment, and capacity to optimally handle receipts and dispatches.
    • The ability to deputize for other controllers or coordinators in the warehousing environment.                                     

    Logistics

    • Ensuring deliveries are achieved on time (issues, receipt, and dispatch) and in the right quality for raw, packaging, semi-finished, bulk, and finished goods materials in an efficient and effective way.
    • Ensure document compliance and tracking (POD, NQMS, OBD, etc.)
    • Ensure pallets are maintained (Returns, Receipts, Stock Counts, Housekeeping) on site (3rd party pallets and Nestlé pallets)                                                 

    Stock Management

    • Ensure stock accuracy through the coordination of cycle counts and monthly stock counts.
    • Participation in key quarterly stock counts
    • Maintain Warehousing Master Data for materials on SAP.
    • Ensure defective stock (expired/damaged/blocked) is managed according to the standard and procedures.

    HR Management

    • Kronos Timecard Management
    • Training & Development (inclusive of Individual Development Plans)
    • People Management
    • Understanding the disciplinary and grievance procedure
    • Abides by the company polices and the disciplinary code.                                                     

    Administration

    • Creation of Purchase Requisitions on SAP

    Compliance

    • Conducting health checks on SAP
    • Drive compliance with quality control systems and procedures through routine housekeeping checks within the warehouse.
    • Drive safety compliance to ensure a safe working environment through the 8 Life Saving rules and Site Safety
    • Procedures-monitor check lists for MHE
    • Ensure all mechanical equipment (E.g. forklift lifts, scales) is maintained and serviced as per the supplier specification or the agreed company standards.

    Assistant Factory Controller - Babelegi

    Position Summary

    • Provide efficient, effective and accurate costing support and advice to meet business (Corporate, Division and factory) objectives, consistent with Nestle policies.

    A day in the life an Assistant Factory Controller:

    Decision Support:

    • Provision of accurate and timely detailed product costings. Variance analysis and reporting (weekly, monthly, yearly). Assist with Preparation of the Annual  Cost Estimate (ACE) and Revisions and submit on a timely basis. Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies.
    • Co-ordination and Involvement in new product development teams – costings for feasibility studies. Provision of accurate monthly Actual Cost Calculation with consistent adherence to Period End Close timelines. Ensure that the Nestle Costing Standards Guidelines and Methodologies are observed and applied consistently.
    • Validate and analyse financial and accounting information pertaining to the factory for Management and employees. Preparation of the monthly Raw and Packing materials Working Capital reporting. Involvement with all departments in Continuous Improvements initiatives.
    • Involvement in shop-floor control, daily process order variance meetings with production department Management Teams. Supporting Factory Controller in decision support activities such as, what if analysis, EBA calculations etc. Adhoc Projects. Monitor and Control factory fixed cost.

    Operational:

    • Ensure audit guidelines and Nestle Accounting policy is observed.
    • Education of shop-floor staff in use of SAP to improve material/labour control.
    • Maintenance of data integrity for SAP
    • Implement procedure to avoid write offs and ensure that obsolete and redundant materials are identified and written off in accordance with head office directives.
    • Petty Cash disbursement and replenishment
    • Actively involved in implementing the Companies environment and safety policies.
    • Other tasks and responsibilities (As appropriate)

     What will make you successful?

    • Bachelor’s Degree or Honours Degree in Accounting or appropriate financial qualification
    • Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA (SA) or CIMA or ACCA) will be an added advantage.
    • Prior experience in Accounting / Finance function (e.g. Costing, accounts payable, ideally within a factory or supply chain
    • Fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry or manufacturing experience
    • Experience within a network organization (internal and external providers)
    • Proficiency in English and language of the market (where applicable)
    • Good understanding of Activity Based Costing (ABC) methodology.

    Maintenance Industrial Services Engineer

    A day in the life of a Factory Maintenance Engineer:

    • As a Maintenance Engineer, you will support and participate in the implementation and execution of the factory asset maintenance programme aimed to eliminate unplanned stops and optimise maintenance cost and as a result increase asset intensity. This role is responsible for a defined set of production assets in terms of the engineering strategy to support in driving your area to world class performance levels in safety, quality, cost and service.

    Other responsibilities will include:

    • To maintain the basic condition of the machines by means of reactive, preventative and predictive maintenance activities.
    • Support Breakdowns and participate in line improvements across the factory, as you become the Subject Matter Expert for your selected area.
    • Driving a safe culture and eliminate safety risks
    • Ensure all work is completed to a good engineering standard always following GMP and safe systems of work.
    • Ensure compliance with the Nestlé quality policy particularly engineering change management and line release.
    • Planned Maintenance by effective utilization of AMM system, Master and coach breakdown analysis, root cause analysis and taking ownership of follow up actions.
    • Supporting Root Cause Analysis practices and projects.
    • Provide input for annual maintenance budget. Assist with the reporting and tracking of the maintenance budget. Analyze over/under spending in the area of responsibility and propose corrective actions.
    • Support and participate in the competence building plan (CBP) for the maintenance team
    • Supporting the Capability Build of both the Shift Technicians and the Apprentice Technicians as well as supporting and developing the AM team following our TPM roadmap on site.

    Temp Project Engineer

    Job Description

    • In this role you will be responsible to manage and / or perform the design, implementation, and start-up phases of capital investment projects on the manufacturing site, within the defined scope of responsibility or specialisation. Ensure that the objectives of the investment project charter, design specifications and Nestlé standards are implemented and adhered to.

    A day in the life of a Project Engineer:

    Before starting the project design phase:

    • Support the End-to-End Project Manager and Project Engineering Manager in developing the investment project charter and ensure that it is strictly followed throughout the project.                                                       

    During project design phase:

    • Execute the basic and detailed design of the project based on Nestlé Corporate Business Principles, Nestlé standards, local regulations, the defined User Requirements Specifications and the TPM characteristics of a unit operation (safety, quality, affordability, maintainability, operability, and reliability). Ensure by design the workers, and operators, safety during both the construction and the ongoing operation of the plant.                                               

    During the project implementation phase:

    • Ensure that the engineering side of the project is implemented (e.g., buildings, equipment erections, piping, utilities, etc.) in accordance with the defined timing, cost and quality, the URS, and the characteristics of a unit operation. And that all the elements of the project (including technical people training, as needed) in performed in such a way that safety is always guaranteed on the whole project site and that a vertical start-up is assured. Select and qualify contractors and coordinate their activities. Ensure that Nestlé standards are applied.                                        

    During the start-up phase of the project:

    • Support the start-up manager and their team to ensure a smooth transition to operations after the qualification and verification of the installation. Contribute to and support the preparation and distributing the engineering project documentation, including the engineering part of the project final report and provide feedback to the Maintenance Prevention System.                                                                                             

    What will make you successful?

    • Degree/Diploma in an Engineering discipline (Mechanical, E&A , or similar qualification)
    • Manufacturing projects management (” making it happen")
    • Min 5 years experience in capital investment projects development and implementation in Food industry
    • Determination of methods to minimize the likelihood of injuries or damages to people and/or equipment (SH&E)

    Team Leader

    A day in the life of a Team Leader:

    Control of Production Scheduling and Planning  & Manage weekly MPS and Monthly production Plan

    • Break down weekly MPS into daily shifts.
    • Monitor daily any deviations from scheduling and supply and reasons for it.
    • Analyze shop floor reports, take appropriate actions and report to plant manager daily.
    • Attend all meetings relevant to the above.

    Plant Performance/Efficiency Management

    • Analyze output/efficiency (SAM) on a shift basis and take the appropriate action
    • Apply all the elements of GIN 23.010
    • Ensure compliance with all output recording procedures

    Budget /variance control

    • Assist in the calculation of budget losses.
    • Organize daily/weekly cycle counting of ingredients, packaging, WIP and finished products.
    • Analyze weekly variance and institute corrective action where necessary.
    • Assist Production Manager with drawing of the budget.

    Management of HR

    • Identify all training needs for the line crew and conduct or arrange training when and where required.
    • Arrange line crewing, including labour transfers and contract works.
    • Ensure full familiarization with current labour Legislation
    • Compile shift rosters in conjunction with other Team Leaders.

    Implementation of NQS

    • Analyze LP forms and take appropriate action (reduction of filling losses and legal compliance)
    • Ensure that release parameters are complied with, and the release procedure is followed.
    • Attend and participate in daily sensory meetings and take appropriate actions.                                                                                    
    • Submit industrial batches and monitor results.

    Safety, Loss and Control Management

    • Ensure that all OHASA regulations are adhered to.
    • Ensure that all environmental regulations are compiled to.
    • Ensure that adequate first aid equipment and trained personnel is available.
    • Investigate and report all accidents and propose necessary modifications.

    Innovative and Improvement

    • Promote Continuous Improvement and seek new and improved methods of working in order to increase efficiency in the overall production process
    • Manage Teamwork to ensure continuous improvement of all activities and resources within the organization.

    What will make you successful:

    • A Degree/ ND in Eng, Manufacturing or Food Tech. with English and Maths in Matric, Min. 3 years’ experience in food manufacturing environment and Computer Literate.
