    Logistics Operations Co-Ordinator

    Brief Role Description

    Based in Uitenhage, as part of the Operational Logistics Department the successful candidate will be responsible for the coordination facilitation and controlling of Logistics activities to support Production and OHSE requirements

    Possible Tasks within this Role

    • To facilitate the coordination of Logistics activities between Various VWSA Departments and the external Logistics Service Providers (LSP’s).
    • Support production with investigations regarding any Logistics supply and LSP issues
    • Institute / implement, KPI’s and audits to ensure that the LSP adheres to VWSA prescribed procedures and requirements.
    • Monitor and Measure main processes (KPI’S) and ensure agreed targets, trends and deadlines are running to an acceptable norm.
    • Monitor and Measure Inventory Control Processes (KPI’S) and ensure agreed targets, trends and deadlines are running to an acceptable norm in order to control stock adjustments.
    • Investigate and monitor Financial Accounts in SAP on a weekly basis and present reports to Logistics and Finance Management.
    • Supporting and chairing Gemba and other LSP Performance Management meetings.
    • Monitor and measure JIT supply processes and investigate any issues regarding supply
    • Organise and co-ordinate all related inventory activities with regards to annual sample box verification to ensure a smooth/well-organised Annual Stock Take

    Qualification requirements

    • Have a National Diploma/Degree Industrial, Mechanical Engineering or Logistics

    Experience Needed

    • Have a minimum of 3 years relevant experience with Production & Logistics Operations.

    Essentials

    • Knowledge of Process Control and Quality Management Systems.
    • Be computer proficient (Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
    • Be proficient in SAP system.
    • Have good analytical and problem solving abilities, have attention to detail. Be able to communicate effectively up to Management level, both verbal and written. Be able to improve existing procedures and processes
    • Have good working knowledge of Warehouse and Inventory Management
    • Have comprehensive understanding of JIT supply processes
    • Have good understanding of OHSE requirements and Standards

    Process Planning Engineer

    Brief Role Description

    • Provide Production with technical support to develop and setup production processes and resolve production problems which could prevent the achievement of quality targets and scheduled production volumes in an efficient and cost effective manner. On a continuing basis identify improvement opportunities which will lead to productivity, efficiency and cost improvements

    Qualification requirements

    • National Diploma or Degree in Industrial/Mechanical/Electrical Engineering

    Possible Tasks within this Role

    • Establish, introduce and ensure all processes stability, in Production Areas.
    • Coordinate, measure, follow-up and monitor the implementation status of all completed workshops until fully implemented and improvements achieved
    • Moderate continuous improvement workshops as required, to achieve the planned productivity and efficiency targets. (Efficiency workshops, Value stream mapping)
    • Liaise with Internal and External Customers including the Volkswagen Group regarding Engineering and Quality specifications and requirements.
    • Co-ordinate machinery and equipment Buy-off and Acceptance
    • Ensure all change points are managed and communicated to the relevant stakeholders
    • Conduct costing enquiries to Establish Costs for the purchase / manufacture of facilities
    • Approve Tool / Facility Design with regards to Function, Work Flow and Specifications for Manufacturing
    • Maintain and manage documentation change control for auditing (internal and external)
    • Dispose and outsource obsolete facilities and equipment

    Experience needed

    • Minimum of 2 – 3 years technical/engineering experience within an automotive manufacturing environment

    Essentials

    • In-depth knowledge of production processes, layouts, production systems and Shop facilities
    • Excellent insight into roles of Product engineering, Quality, Manufacturing Planning, VW Production systems and Manufacturing systems (FIS, BZD, Smart tools, IBN)
    • Knowledge of Quality tools e.g. SPC, FMEA, Fishbone Diagram, as well as capability studies
    • Knowledge of Audit processes i.e. ISO 9001, Konzern, Conformance of production (COP), Corrosion, BIW,VDA and OHSE
    • In depth knowledge of metal working process (machining and tooling), production process, layout and facilities.

    Financial Controller / PA

    Brief Role Description

    • As part of the Component Production Department, the successful candidate will assume financial responsibility and ownership for Component Plant and Engine Plant. To provide financial advisory service on Manpower; Overheads and Capex and to assist and support the Division Head with the coordination, preparation and administration of daily activities in order to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Admin office.

    Possible Tasks within this Role

    • Continuously strive to create cost awareness and acceptance of responsibility and ownership, by the relevant managers, for its financial performance with respect to overheads and CAPEX costs
    • Chairing internal Component Production Financial Review meetings with Management to discuss financial performance of the previous month, to identify any out of line conditions and monitor corrective action plans.
    • Forecast overhead expenditure to remain within allocated budget.
    • To provide regular financial information that is both timeous and accurate to enable informed decisions to be taken by Unit Head and Component Managers.
    • Coordinating the inputs of the managers and supervisors KPI’s and actual achievements into Business Cockpit system
    • Coordinate QMS activities for the business unit to ensure compliance in line with VW Group Quality Policy
    • To provide annual review of the previous year’s performance to create focus on areas of non-performance and agree on measures to minimize future risk.
    • Development of Component Production Budget in conjunction with planning and volume forecasts per Cost Centre.
    • Prepare monthly Financial Review Meeting and Plant Ops Review Presentations.
    • Facilitate the transfer of overhead costs to the correct cost center / cost of sales accounts.
    • Coordinate CAPEX, Overhead and Direct Purchase orders on behalf of Component Production

    Qualification requirements

    • Have a Degree / Diploma in Commerce, Management Accounting or Business Management

    Experience needed

    • Must have minimum of 3-year experience, in a financial environment within the manufacturing industry.
    • Must have a minimum of 3 years’ experience in general administrative and organizational experience
    • Experience with SAP for Financial Control

    Essentials

    • Have thorough working knowledge of processes in Group Financial Processes / Budget Controlling.
    • Must have well developed communication skills, both written and oral with an excellent command in English and be able to communicate at all levels (Staff / Managerial / Division Head / BOM).
    • Display excellent typing skills and end user computer proficiency (i.e.  MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) combined with advanced electronic report and presentation preparation skills.
    • Display good negotiation; co-ordination; analytical; organizational and planning skills with strong attention to detail.
    • Have good interpersonal  skills and the ability to create a work environment conducive to high performance
