Workshop Foreman - Malalane at Unitrans

Job Advert Summary    

• An opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Foreman responsible for planning and organising the workload in the workshop to maximise effective manpower utilisation and cost-effective maintenance to vehicles and equipment. Schedules vehicle and equipment maintenance. Inspects and tests vehicles and equipment. Order spares and components needed for maintenance.

Minimum Requirements    

• Qualified Diesel Mechanic (trade papers essential)
• Valid driver's license, preferably EC
• Grade 12 / Matric / NQF level 4
• Up to 5 years’ experience

Duties & Responsibilities    

• Oversee the operations and activities within a workshop or maintenance facility
• Responsible for managing a team of technicians or mechanics and ensuring that work is performed efficiently, safely, and to the required standards
• Responsible for planning and organising the workload in the workshop to maximise effective manpower utilisation and cost-effective maintenance to vehicles and equipment
• Responsible for scheduling vehicle and equipment maintenance 
• Oversee the inspection and testing of vehicles and equipment
• Responsible for ordering spares and components needed for maintenance
