Wiring Technician at Rubicon Energy & Automation

Role Requirements:

Receiving:

• Assistance in Installation: Assemble electrical wiring systems in lighting fixtures and related products according to engineering drawings and specifications.
• Maintenance and Repair Support: Assist in the routine maintenance and repair of wiring systems of existing lighting products.
• Testing and Troubleshooting: Help test and troubleshoot wiring systems in lighting fixtures to identify and correct issues, using diagnostic tools and equipment.
• Documentation: Maintain accurate records of all wiring assemblies, maintenance, and repairs. Assist in documenting any changes made to wiring systems.
• Compliance: Ensure all wiring work complies with industry standards, codes, and safety regulations specific to lighting products.
• Collaboration: Work closely with installers, technicians, engineers, electricians, and other teams to complete projects efficiently and effectively.
• Learning and Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities to enhance technical skills and knowledge related to lighting manufacturing.

Knowledge, Education, Skills & Experience:

• At Minimum, Matric/NQF 4 level qualification
• Completed or in progress technical training or certification in electrical wiring or related field is preferred.
• Ability to read, write, count and communicate verbally
• Experience: Some prior experience or internships in wiring or electrical work is required. Willingness to learn and develop new skills is essential.

Skills:

• Basic understanding of electrical diagrams and blueprints related to lighting products.
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Willingness to learn electrical codes and safety standards specific to lighting.
• Ability to use various hand tools and diagnostic equipment under supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
