    Trade Manager - Services

    Purpose of the position:

    To proactively and effectively drive the trade portfolio within the services sector in support of the achievement of Wesgro’s strategic and operational objectives. The role is dedicated to supporting Western Cape business, in the services sector, including creative industry, with exporting their goods and services to the rest of the world.

    Requirements:

    • This position is suited to a professional in the possession of a Business Administration and/or Commerce Degree in Business Science, International Business Development, International Relations, Export/Trade or equivalent competence, coupled with at least two years working experience in a similar environment
    • Understanding of marketing and communication principles, strategies and techniques
    • Knowledge of exporting companies and related challenges
    • Export markets and related consumer trends and standard international trade environment
    • Knowledge of Agency’s Procedures and protocols around trade promotion, including the business plan and strategies employed
    • Sound understanding of the Western Cape economy
    • Knowledge of relevant target countries will be advantages
    • Contacts and networks in respective markets will be advantageous

    Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Take responsibility for formulating, managing and implementing export facilitation in the services industries sector, and this would include Creative Industries, within the Services Trade Unit
    • Facilitate trade-related events (outward/inward missions, site visits, seminars & trade fair participation) for Western Cape exporters
    • Match foreign buyers to local exporters, and managing of trade leads
    • Keep abreast of export-related incentive schemes, both locally and internationally
    • Liaise with established and potential exporters and build strong relationships with these core stakeholders
    • Liaise with international importers and build strong relationships with these core stakeholders
    • Develop networks, both national and internationally, with relevant partner organisations
    • Ensure all Wesgro collateral is of the highest standard, and proof-checked
    • Perform ad hoc duties that may arise from time to time that will improve Wesgro’s export promotion ability
