    Technology Consultant: East Coast Region (East London) Re-run

    What will you do?

    • The primary focus of the position is to provide support to the sales distribution staff (intermediaries and support staff) with technical support of Sanlam’s software packages and programs with respect to training as well as resolution of technical problems.  

    Output/Core Tasks:

    Your success will come from:

    • Ensuring that all clients are technologically enabled and skilled to be productive and effective.
    • Navigation training and specific selections on the database
    • Undertake personal technical support visits to clients
    • Install new versions/updates of software on computers

    What will make you successful in this role?
    Qualification & Experience 

    • Matric
    • Information Technology Qualification (degree or diploma) 
    • Any secondary qualifications with emphasis on technical related courses such as MCSE, A+, etc. would be advantageous
    • Minimum of 5 years experience within software deployment and support environment
    • Valid South African driver’s license 
    • Working knowledge of networks, hardware, operating systems
    • Experience in life assurance or broader financial services industry an advantage
    • Knowledge of Insurance Industry Point of Sales software; like S.net advantageous

    Knowledge and Skills 
    To be successful you will need to demonstrate good experience in:

    IT:

    • MS packages (i.e. Word, Excel, Lotus Notes, Access, SQL) – Advanced
    • Windows and operating systems
    • Diagnostics and trouble shooting on PC’s
    • Loading and configuration of software and programs
    • Basic hardware understanding (printers, fax, scanners, ADSL installations, Networking)

    Business/General knowledge

    • Legislation impacting on the Financial Services environment (FAIS, FICA, Commission Regulations etc)
    • Broad Sanlam Product knowledge
    • Knowledge of Sanlam Personnel Policy
    • Distribution Channel fundamentals
