Technician at City of Cape Town

Requirements

• National Diploma or equivalent technical certification (MCSE)
• A minimum of an A+, N+ & MCP Certificate or higher
• Certification in ITIL Foundation (advantageous)
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in the Infrastructure Server
• Environment
• Exposure to Microsoft System Centre Suite
• Sound knowledge of X86 Server Hardware infrastructure
• Microsoft Active Directory exposure
• Valid Driver’s licence Code 08
• Own vehicle advantageous

Key Performance Areas

• Asset management with focus on condemnations and writing off

X86 Server related assets.

• Undertaking site administration tasks, including reporting, issue-
• resolution, data and information quality checking
• Identify and troubleshoot faulty Server hardware
• Provide technical support to City of Cape Town IT Backend Server

Systems

• Technical support for Microsoft Windows Server operating systems
• Liaise with 3rd party vendors to assist with hardware repairs
• Resolution of calls received through IT Service Desk within a defined

SLA

• Knowledge and skills transfer
• Apply ITIL methodology
