Surface General Engineering Supervisor at RPO Recruitment

RPO Recruitment's client is seeking a highly experienced and skilled Surface General Engineering Supervisor to join their mining operation in the Northern Cape region. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in general engineering in the mining industry, with a focus on surface operations.

Responsibilities:

• Supervise and coordinate the activities of the general engineering team on the surface
• Oversee the maintenance and repair of machinery, equipment, and vehicles used in surface mining operations
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies
• Develop and implement maintenance schedules to minimize downtime and maximize productivity
• Train and mentor junior staff members to improve their skills and performance
• Collaborate with other departments to optimize workflows and ensure smooth operations

Requirements:

• Trade Test Artisan / Technician Certificate
• N5 Engineering Studies
• Advanced Management Certificate
• Minimum 6 Years Post apprenticeship in an artisan / technician trade in heavy industrial, mining or plant and/or Trackless Mobile Machinery
• At least 5 Years Supervisory experience
• Excellent knowledge of surface mining equipment and machinery
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines
