CORE DESCRIPTION

• To handle the day-to-day management of the cheese store.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure that forklift is in good condition.
• Regulation of the temperature in the cold storage at Ladismith Cheese and reporting faulty temperature readings.
• Responsible for checking the cheese ages.
• Responsible for ensuring that the oldest cheeses go out first.
• Accounting of inventory in cold storage.
• Responsible for loading trucks and orders.
• Responsible for cleanliness of storage.
• Driving forklift to load supplies onto the trucks, including after hours.
• Responsible for inventory taking, may occur after hours.
• Responsible for checking the quality of cheese.
• Keep cheesy inventory records (import and check out) on the computer.
• Weekly reporting of stock on hand.
• Responsible for accounting for all returns

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

•  Grade 12 with at least 5 years relevant experience.
•  Qualification in Stores & Warehousing would be an advantage.
•  Sense of order, cleanliness, and accurate record keeping.
•  Training in “Storage & Distribution" would be beneficial.
•  Positive attitude towards productivity & deadlines.
•  Experience of Food Safety System essential
