JOB DESCRIPTION

• This main purpose of the position is to coordinate warehouse and dispatch processes in the final product warehouse which includes performing daily duties related to receiving, binning, picking, loading of vehicles and inventory control.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12
• Certificate/Diploma in Logistics/Supply Management an advantage
• A minimum of 3-5 years experience in similar role
• Knowledge of Animal Feed Laboratory equipment
• Proven working knowledge of MS Excel and PowerPoint.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Ensure the housekeeping is in order before the start of the shift and at shutdown of the shift
• Ensure all scales are leveled and verified at the start of each shift in all areas
• Ensure shift handover are done and communicated between shifts
• Distribute loading schedule for loading team
• Verify final product pallets according to quantities, product ranges and schedule/production plan
• Sign off stock received from the production team with stock handover between departments
• Return product that are out of spec and/or damaged
• Move product into the correct allocated bin
• Ensure that the pallet is registered into the bin
• Verify that the correct pallet number is picked according to the pallet barcode
• Move picked pallets to the loading areas, keeping the pallets per load together
• Pick all orders in advance - sign off picking slip before load is loaded onto the vehicle
• Plan and schedule vehicle loading according to order date and delivery date
• Ensure the integrity of the product before loading
• Ensure the correct product and quantities are loaded onto the correct vehicle
• Complete administration per load i.e. Picking Slip and shipment documents
• Investigate and solve discrepancies i.e. short loads, damaged loads, reconcile POD's etc.
• Minimize vehicle standing times to a minimum
• Monitor daily shift operational compliance of the total warehouse and dispatch process
• Stock control and rotation according to FIFO principle
• Perform an accurate daily stock count and bin accuracy each morning
• Maintain minimum and optimum stock levels by product
• Ensure that inspection on Forklift are performed daily before the start of each shift
• Adhere to food safety policies and procedures
• Routine fumigation according to food safety guidelines
• Unused pallets to be stacked neatly in the designated area
• Broken pallets moved to the waste area daily
• Completing of daily control sheets and registers as applicable
• Reconcile stock counts with actual stock
• Oversee and coordinate personnel
• Daily shift planning and scheduling
• Time and attendance of personnel
• Identify and report health and safety related issues
