Specialist: Trade Finance and International Banking at Absa

Job Summary

• To provide specialist value added service and solutions to customers to meet business growth in Trade Finance and International Banking by customer acquisition, retention and facilitating internal and external relationships across stakeholder touch points.

Job Description

In this role your key accountabilities will include:

• Identify and review client needs so as to provide advice and deliver products and services by maintaining a strong relationship with clients and stakeholders.
• Resolve client issues appropriately and escalate those unable to resolve to the respective banker or Regional Sales Manager
• Identify market and industry trends, by analyzing sector research, economic periodicals and industry journals and advise CIB stakeholders and clients on these.
• Regularly identify and review client needs so as to provide advice and deliver product
• and services by maintaining strong relationship with customers and being solution oriented
• Establish relationships with potential clients and pursue opportunities to expand International banking business for the related segment/sector
• Contract new business opportunities by identifying current and new clients for expansion in transaction volumes and value extraction through cross selling of products or services.
• Grow own client portfolio by attracting new clients through participating in promotions, at and sales initiatives in order to achieve and exceed contracted sales targets.
• Negotiate and close deals with customers to realize the set International Banking targets. Initiate and implement transactions to meet International Banking targets.
• Identify, establish and nurture internal stakeholder relationships through introduction, presentations and regular feedback and networking.
• Optimise external customer relationships to maximise business opportunities and enhance the positioning of International Banking through visibility marketing activities and active participation in relevant forums.
• Conduct sales within statutory and regulatory requirements, as well as through strict application of Absa policies and procedures.
• Engage with clients to keep them abreast with regulatory requirements (e.g. Exchange Control Sanctions and money laundering), whilst maintain a solutioning approach to their needs.

• 4 years General Banking experience (advantage)
• 4 years International Banking / Trade Finance advisory experience.

Education

• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
