Job Summary

• The Absa CIB Consumer Goods & Services Sector Coverage team looks after clients across the FMCG, Retail, Private Education and Professional Services sectors. We cover the entire African continent and follow our clients across all global jurisdictions.
• The Consumer Goods and Services space is an exciting sector to be in due to Consumer Trends, Sustainability, Data, Ecommerce and many other Digitally Lead Considerations, and the consequent transition we face as we work towards a more Connected Consumer Driven demand economy.
• The Analyst in our team is integral to the bankers’ portfolios and assist with developing, growing and maintaining relationships to ensure innovative, fast and efficient delivery of product and service solutions.
• The Analyst role is further crucial to the research, insights, client and media presentations and articles to the wider public presented on our Absa Website and social media channels. In conjunction with the various research houses the analyst will prepare in-country research reports, support in the development of sector strategic initiatives and are intimately involved in developing deal-approval presentations.
• There is also a core responsibility around monitoring and managing budgets, revenue analysis, pipeline tracking and reporting on performance. These form the foundation for the team’s success in growing market share and identifying new markets and client opportunities.
• The ideal candidate should have a minimum of 3 years relevant Corporate Banking experience with specific exposure to finance, credit, risk and financial modelling. Exposure to the Consumer Goods and Services Sector would be an advantage for any candidate considering to apply.

Job Description

Solutioning & Advisory:

• Provide ongoing support to senior bankers in driving business development and subsequently business targets through monitoring and identifying opportunities within the portfolio (cross selling and up-selling)

Client Engagement:

• On a regular basis engage with clients around current and future product requirements to ensure client expectations are met and ultimately value created for business and client

Risk and Control:

• Ensure that all risk and control requirements relating to the portfolio are met and/or implemented as required 

Education

• Bachelor`s Degrees and Advanced Diplomas: Business, Commerce and Management Studies (Required)
