SANSA was created to promote the use of space and strengthen cooperation in space-related activities while fostering research in space science, advancing scientific engineering through developing human capital, and supporting industrial development in space technologies. The research and work carried out at SANSA focuses on Earth observation, space science, space engineering and space operations. Much of this work involves monitoring the Earth for policy and decision making, resource and disaster management, food security and national security. SANSA also provides state-of-the-art facilities to monitor space weather, provide launch support and data downloads as well as supporting the growth of the local space industry.

The South African National Space Agency (SANSA) is a public entity under the National Department of Science and Innovation.
SANSA has the mandate to drive the promotion and use of space and cooperation in space-related activities. To achieve this mandate, the Agency fosters research in space science and technology advances space engineering programmes and supports the creation of an environment conducive to industrial development in space technologies within the framework of national government policy. The following opportunity exists in SANSA, to be filled by individual with the relevant skills, drive, competencies, and qualifications
Reporting to the ICT Project Manager, the position will perform end-to-end software development full life-cycle (SDLC) activities as well as perform Proof of Concept (POC), Project Deployment, and Project Roles as required. Responsible for developing and delivering software solutions that support the organisation’s overall strategic objectives.
