    Senior Director Communications and Marketing People and Operations

    CORE PURPOSE OF JOB

    To build and enhance the name, identity and brand of Nelson Mandela University as a dynamic African university, recognised for its leadership in generating cutting-edge knowledge for a sustainable future.

    To position Nelson Mandela University as one of the leading African universities amongst key internal and external institutional stakeholders. 

    KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS

    • Provide strategic management, innovative, transformative and transformational leadership to the   Communication and Marketing division and the University.
    • Build and enhance the Nelson Mandela University name, identity and brand.
    • Lead the development and deployment of institutional stakeholder communication and engagement strategies, platforms and tools, working closely with executive and senior leadership of the University within the support and academic structures.
    • Strategically manage stakeholder communication and engagement programmes and infrastructure.
    • Lead the development and implementation of student recruitment strategies.
    • Reposition the University’s Arts, Culture and Heritage function in line with the transformative and transformational ambitions of Mandela University.
    • Embed a culture of resource stewardship, strategic financial management and empowering people management.

    • Strong proficiency in market analysis and a deep understanding of brand positioning

    • Expertise in digital marketing, public relations, team management, and the ability to adapt to evolving market trends.

    REQUIREMENTS
     

    • A Master’s degree in a marketing and communications discipline..
    • At least 8-10 years senior management experience.
    • Experience in a senior leadership position in Higher Education will be an added advantage.

    Method of Application

    • Deliver a 15-minute presentation, the topic of which will be communicated timeously; and,
