    Senior Applications Manager

    Primary Purpose of the Job

    The Senior Applications Manager – ERP and Database Management will be responsible for the delivery of an efficient ERP support service to internal stakeholders and for managing the firm’s databases.

    Main Duties and Responsibilities

     Working closely with the Business and the ICT Department, the successful incumbent will be required to:

    • Deliver a high quality, responsive and efficient ERP support service to internal stakeholders
    • Create, execute, and maintain company databases
    • Manage and develop custom database objects (SQL scripts, stored procedures, tables, views, functions)
    • Create and maintain reporting and data integration processes using SSRS and SSIS
    • Implement and ensure integration between systems.
    • Manage delivery of financial reporting through the ERP system including month-end reports, month end statements etc.
    • Support the Financial Operations, Procurement, Compliance, Quality and service line operations teams in developing relevant reporting capability.
    • Assist Finance with internal operations (Management Accounts, Budgeting) and general high-level support.
    • Supervise the delivery of a team of analysts, developers and support specialists to deliver the agreed programme of work, motivating the team to implement a culture of professionalism and continual improvement.
    • Maintain and monitor the Application environments in line with the organizations cyber-security policies and procedures.
    • Work with the application vendor to ensure that licensing and software functionality is maintained within the agreed service levels.  Manage vendor requests, responses and payments
    • Make recommendations on when to upgrade the existing systems/applications.
    • Monitor the roll-out of software enhancements to ensure there are no problems.
    • Troubleshoot and resolve any problems with the software.
    • Create and oversee protocols and procedures for the use of any new software applications.
    • Train employees on the use of any new software applications and ERP enhancements
    • Keep abreast with best practices and latest software developments.
    • Actively seek opportunities to contribute improvements to the ERP application
    • Act as a focal point of expertise on key technologies or skills
    • Contribute technical expertise to requirements analysis to enhance the quality of any solution design

    Requirements

    Qualifications, Recognition of Prior Learning, Work Experience, and Knowledge 

    Qualifications/Recognition of Prior Learning equivalent

    • Computer Science or other relevant technical degree

    Work Experience

    • 5-10 yrs. in a similar environment.
    • Experience of the full software development lifecycle
    • Extensive knowledge of the Power Platform, Power BI,SSIS and SSRS
    • Experience of architecting software solutions with demanding non-functional requirements such as performance, high availability, reliability, security, etc.
    • Extensive development experience
    • Excellent knowledge and understanding of object-oriented design techniques and patterns
    • Knowledge of several standard software development methodologies
    • Client interaction experience, including experience of running workshops with clients
    • Database design experience such as SQL
    • Experience of enterprise architecture definition
    • Working experience of ITIL, SQL, HTML/5CSS3, NET, C# or JavaScript preferable
    • Working experience with an ERP solution e.g. Oracle.  Experience with Maconomy preferred

    Knowledge

    • A deep understanding of modern development architectures and both on-premise, Hybrid, PaaS and SaaS based software solutions, ideally with Agile methodologies and practices.
    • Experience working as a junior IT specialist and/or applications developer.
    • Broad working knowledge of computer networking, installation, and administration.  DevOps experience preferred.
    • Experience with database management and project management.
    • Excellent technical skills.
    • The ability to remain up to date with the latest software developments.
