Senior Accountant - Durban at Moore South Africa

Minimum Requirements    

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting (BCOM) or Advance diploma in Accounting will be advantageous 
• Completed a training contract/Learnership with SAICA/AGA or SAIPA
• Post article experience will be advantageous

The candidate needs to meet the following requirements: 

• Sound knowledge of accounting up to balance sheet.
• Sound knowledge of financial transaction processes and accounting
• Sound knowledge of VAT and employees’ tax
• Sound knowledge of Compilations
• Strong working knowledge of Pastels and related BIC
• Strong communication and client liaison skills
• Ability to manage a team of people.
• Valid driver’s license (Own transport preferable)

Duties and Responsibilities    

• Bookkeeping – preparation of accounts from source documents
• Calculation, completion and submission of statutory returns (VAT)
• Preparation of management accounts
• Preparation of annual financial statements
• Dealing with client queries
• Client Communication 
• Managing of portfolio

Ad hoc duties

• Accounting projects on request of client 
• Budget and cash flow projections
• WIP Management
