    Security Learning and Development Practitioner GSMD

    Brief description

    The main purpose of this position is to develop, plan, deliver and evaluate technical and specialised security training in accordance with legislative requirements and in support of the Group Security Training strategy. 

    Detailed description

    The successful candidate will be responsible for the following key performance areas:

    • Develop and deliver technical and specialised training material through integrated/blended learning methodologies for physical security.
    • Plan and prioritise training needs, interventions and resources to align training and development with operational requirements. 
    • Engage with relevant key stakeholders to meet all regulatory as well as business requirements in order to ensure compliance and quality learning.   
    • Perform learning and administrative duties and act as point of contact for clients in relation to security training. 
    • Conduct formative and summative assessments to determine the level of competence for staff through a workplace/virtual training-based approach. 
    • Track quality and impact of the learning and development interventions, compile integrated reports and provide recommendations for continuous improvement of learning solutions. 
    • Proactively broaden knowledge of the functional area, displaying a willingness to make improvements in own work (including methods and practices).

    QUALIFICATIONS

    To be considered for this position, candidates must be in possession of:

    • a National Diploma in Education, Training and Development or an equivalent NQF6 qualification;
    • a minimum of five (5) years’ experience in learning and development design and/or facilitation of which at least three (3) years in an operational security environment;
    • a Professional Firearms Trainers Council (PFTC) advanced training certificate in handling of firearms (handgun, rifle and shotgun);
    • a level of medical, physical and psychological fitness that is commensurate with the inherent requirements of the position; and
    • a Private Security Industry Regulatory Authority (PSIRA) Grade A certificate
