    Sales Strategy and Support Executive

    Purpose of the Job

    The purpose of the role is to ensure that the distribution team is aligned to the strategy, and that internal processes required for strategic execution are designed and implemented, and progress on strategic execution is reported on.

    The individual is responsible for providing sales support to the distribution team, drives the execution of the strategic projects and is individually accountable for achieving results through others over period of 1 – 2years. The individual will be required to build and maintain relationships with senior management and other key stakeholders.

    Key Outputs

    Strategy Management

    • Design and implement strategies focusing on internal processes and ensures business unit alignment and implementation.
    • Owns key strategic insurance distribution projects initiated by EXCO.
    • Facilitates the development and execution of strategy in Two Mountains for the insurance distribution team.
    • Works with Two Mountains leadership to facilitate real understanding of the direction chosen.
    • Facilitates acceptance of and commitment to strategic goals.
    • Ensures continuous communication of the strategic direction to the business.
    • Ensures tactical initiation of strategy by focusing on internal processes.
    • Ensures alignment between Distribution plans and TM strategy by coordinating efforts of leadership and business units to link strategies and tactics of individual units to those of the broader organisation.
    • Reporting and coordination of distribution metrics.

     Distribution Support

    • Works closely with key stakeholders to develop and implement the Distribution Business Plan, in line with Two Mountains Strategy.
    • Sets direction for the sales support unit. Accountable for benchmarking and ensuring alignment of the distribution unit with competitive performance measures.
    • Ensures the provisions of leads management support for distribution.
    • Continuously reviews, adjusts, and embeds appropriate business process governances, rules, procedures, and support structures.
    • Accountable for the execution of strategic distribution projects and represents the Distribution unit in various multidisciplinary / and external projects/ committees.
    • Develops and implements a Sales Remuneration and incentive model.
    • Integrates delivery and metrics across the people, process, finance, and customer dimensions of the distribution unit.
    • Coordinates legislative compliance efforts across the Distribution unit.

    People

    • Manage people and culture per Two Mountains people practices and policies to create an enabling environment that supports high-performing and empowered teams.
    • Define and drive clear accountability and engagement models and processes within the team and with touchpoints across Two Mountains.

    Budget and Expense Management

    • Manage the operating expense budget to agreed standards.

    Business and Market Knowledge

    • Displays sound knowledge of the business landscape (business value chain and key operational areas).
    • Understands the value offering of each area within the business to the different customers.
    • Understands the type of market within which the business operates. Knows the key competitors and their product/ service offering.

    Business Finance

    • Skilled in budget planning and management, including the analysis of costs and financial performance measures.
    • Contributes to the identification of profitable and value – adding business opportunities.
    • Sound knowledge of financial and related commercial concepts (for example: Profit & Loss, Return -on investment, Business value – drivers) as it applies within a business function.

    Reputation Management

    • In- depth ability to assess the business reputation in the market and with various stakeholder groups.
    • Skilled in coordinating internal actions to support key reputation drivers.
    • Skilled in managing corporate reputational risk.
    • Risk and Crisis Management
      • Skills in implementing business risk, compliance, and governance policies within a work environment.
      • Guides others on what constitutes ethical behaviors.
      • Skilled in developing and implementing crisis management plans and processes.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    • Relevant degree in business, Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or related fields.

    Experience Required:

    • Minimum 6 -8 years relevant experience.
    • People Management experience 2 years.
    • Proven experience in interpreting and implementing company strategy
    • Prior financial services experience essential.
    • Prior sales experience is essential.
    • Prior funeral services experience is advantageous.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and team management skills are crucial.
    • Ability to manage multiple tasks, projects, and priorities simultaneously.
    • Strong organizational skills are required to ensure smooth operations.
    • Analyse data and makes informed decisions to optimize distribution processes, reduce costs, and improve efficiency.
    • Develops and implements effective solutions.
    • The ability to identify areas for process improvement and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Familiarity with health and safety regulations in distribution environments.
