    Sales Manager - Northern Cape & Eastern Cape

    Overview
    Omnia’s Agriculture division comprises Omnia Fertilizer and Omnia Specialities. The division produces digital solutions, granular, liquid and speciality fertilizers for a broad base of customers throughout Southern and East Africa, Australia, New Zealand and Brazil. Encompassed by its unique Nutriology® model, the focus is to enhance life, together creating a greener future for all. 

    Qualifications

    • BSc Agric, with practical experience
    • Relevant qualifications and experience in financial management.
    • A management qualification would be considered favourable.

    Experience

    • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in a senior sales role is essential
    • An agronomic and irrigation background covering most of the listed crops
    • Delivering sales by developing relationships with clients
    • Identifying and reporting on business opportunities in target markets
    • Increasing market share in existing markets and maximising new business development opportunities
    • Acting as an ambassador and role model for your business
    • Developing strategy, tactics, sales plans, and profit targets
    • Achieving targets for revenue, profitability, and sales growth
    • Providing direction to the sales department

    Duties

    • Plan and implement marketing strategy, including advertising and PR.
    • Plan and implement sales and customer retention and development.
    • Plan and manage sales of marketing resources according to agreed budgets.
    • Drive agronomically sound, proof-selling strategies
    • Manage Value-add activities and promote Solution marketing
    • Contribute to the formulation of policy and strategy
    • Manage the interface between sales and support functions, including Supply Chain, Finance, SHERQ, Technical and Business Development departments to ensure that sales outputs are optimal at all times
    • Recruit, manage, train, and motivate directly reporting staff according to company procedures, policy and employment law.
    • Maintain administrative functions and relevant reporting and planning systems
    • Manage relevant reporting of management and financial information for the sales and marketing departments.
    • Select and manage external sales agencies.
    • Maintain and develop corporate image and reputation.
    • Protect and develop the company's brands via suitable PR activities and intellectual property management.
    • Plan and manage internal communication and awareness of corporate direction, mission, aims and activities
    • Willingness to travel

    Job Competencies

    • Good business sense
    • Excellent sales and negotiation skills
    • Experience of crops under irrigation
    • Understanding the use of fertilizers and the impact of individual nutritional elements
    • The ability to inspire, motivate and lead a team
    • Having enough initiative, drive and enthusiasm
    • Excellent communication and people skills
    • Good planning and organizational skills
    • The ability to work calmly under pressure
    • Good budgeting and report-writing skills
