(Readvert) Analyst:Strategy, Grwth & Strat P'ships - Tembisa at Transnet

Position Purpose:

• Manage and provide an integrated management reporting service for the Academy utilising advanced data analytics to enable effective management decision making
• Perform data analysis, process data queries and prepare reports and dashboards across the Academy value chain as required
• Conduct system data assessments, and gather data and metrics to compile reports for communication of trends, patterns, and predictions to the Academy using relevant data from integrated reporting systems
• Collect, validate and evaluate complex data scripts, and ensure that data and extract,transform and load (ETL) solutions meet Academy requirements
• Provide relevant insights to help the Transnet Academy make the right decisions, address key challenges, and identify new ways to grow

Position outputs:

• Collect and track relevant data for analysis and interpretation, utilising specific statistical software for research and management decision making purposes
• Develop and maintain dashboards to visualize data utilising the Power BI and other data analytics systems
• Provide technical expertise on data storage structures and master data to assist in strategic decisions on upgrades and new data management systems
• Perform ad-hoc analyses, communicate, and address competition, changes in customer preference, and improvements in technology and marketing tools
• Schedule reports on insights from analysis and clearly communicate analytical findings in a cohesive narrative
• Leverage on market/customer research, trends, and competitor analysis to drive revenue, increase yield, improve market share, and enhance customer loyalty
• Undertake market analysis/modelling, portfolio metric reporting, and operational support related to the Academy strategy
• Provide operational insights to achieve key performance indicators
• Perform in-depth sector analyses, using technology, to gain strategic insights and provide essential inputs and information to TA leadership on growth objectives
• Research and promote the utilisation of innovation and technology to advance and improve the Academy’s service and progressive thinking for informed business solutions
• Drive continuous improvement towards change and innovation to facilitate and support the digital transformation of the Academy
• Perform qualitative and quantitative research and consultation on relative markets
• Keep up-to-date knowledge of the industry and related markets being researched
• Create clear and useful reports and recommendations to improve efficiency, profitability, and sustainability of the Academy

Qualifications & Experience:

• B Degree in Informatics or Statistics or Econometrics (NQF Level 7), or relevant field
• A postgraduate qualification from the relevant field would be an advantage
• A minimum of 5 years’ experience in data analysis and reporting in a corporate environment
• Previous experience in data analytics including designing, developing and maintaining Business Intelligence (BI) reports, optimizing efficiency in manipulating data and writing complex reports
• Previous experience in statistics and business/data modelling is required
• Hands-on experience in Power-BI and other data analytics systems is required
