    Quality & Compliance Manager - Randburg

    Job Overview: 
    As the Quality and Compliance Manager at a private hospital, you will play a critical role in ensuring that the hospital maintains the highest standards of quality patient care and complies with all relevant regulatory and accreditation requirements. You will be responsible for developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives, overseeing compliance with healthcare regulations, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement throughout the organization.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor's degree in, Safety Management, Environmental Health, Environmental Management, Nursing, or a related field (Honours degree preferred)
    • SANC registration (if applicable)

    Experience:

    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare quality management, compliance, or related roles
    • Previous experience in a leadership or managerial position preferred

    Requirements:

    • Proven experience in healthcare quality management and compliance
    • Deep understanding of healthcare regulations and accreditation standards
    • Excellent knowledge of clinical processes and patient care practices
    • Excellent knowledge of Occupational Health, Safety and Environmental regulations.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
    • Leadership qualities with the ability to drive change and influence stakeholders.
    • Detail-oriented with a focus on data accuracy and reporting
    • Familiarity with risk management practices in the healthcare industry

    Responsibilities:

    Quality Improvement:

    • Develop and implement quality improvement strategies to enhance patient outcomes and overall hospital performance.
    • Analyse clinical processes, patient data, and feedback to identify areas for improvement.
    • Collaborate with medical staff and department heads to establish quality improvement goals and action plans.
    • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of quality improvement initiatives.

    Compliance Oversight:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare laws, regulations, and accreditation standards.
    • Keep abreast of changes in healthcare regulations and update hospital policies accordingly.
    • Conduct internal audits to assess compliance and recommend corrective actions as needed.
    • Work with external regulatory agencies and auditors during inspections and accreditation visits.

    Risk Management:

    • Implement risk management protocols to identify and mitigate potential risks to patient safety and hospital operations.
    • Investigate incidents, adverse events, and near-misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
    • Promote a culture of safety and quality by providing training and education to staff on risk management practices.

    Data Analysis and Reporting:

    • Gather, analyze, and interpret data related to quality indicators, patient satisfaction, and compliance metrics.
    • Generate comprehensive reports for hospital leadership, regulatory agencies, and accreditation bodies.
    • Use data insights to drive evidence-based decision-making and performance improvement.

    Staff Training and Education:

    • Conduct training sessions for hospital staff on quality assurance, compliance, and patient safety best practices.
    • Ensure that all employees are aware of their roles in maintaining quality and compliance standards.

    Continuous Improvement Culture:

    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and quality consciousness among hospital staff.
    • Lead quality improvement committees and promote the implementation of innovative ideas and best practices.
