PSC Performance Advisor at Anglo American

Job Description:

Please note that this is a 6-month fixed term contract role 

Key responsibilities:

Safety, Health & Environment

• Identify ways to support specific safety, health & sustainability opportunities and risks and ensure transactional logistics activities complies with all Safety, Health & Environmental requirements.
• Ensure the safe operation of the Physical Supply Chain environment, performing regular risk assessments, monitoring safety performance, and addressing any risks/issues immediately 
• Comply with relevant policies and standards and particularly the Contractor Performance Management policy & procedures to enable achievement of gold-standard contractor safety performance

Delivery & Performance

General 

• Adhere to the relevant Supply Chain strategy and ensure that critical tasks, performance targets, plans and budgets are adhered to with due consideration of risk identification 

Supply Chain Strategy, Critical Tasks, Targets 

• Develop Power BI dashboards & reports to replace manual excel based reporting and analytics
• Support the execution and rollout of technology and innovative practices and services though cross-functional collaboration across the region that supports business strategy, operational and safety improvements
• Implement the materials planning capability roll-out to end users in the region
• Monitor key metrics that drive business strategy
• Support with the implementation of a central reporting platform that enables visibility and the management of key KPIs in line with overall business strategy
• Support the roll-out of the Anglo American Operating Model, via participation in site implementations and cross-site best practice sharing, to leverage tangible working capital benefits.
• Participate in external benchmarking of Anglo American Physical Supply Chain against similar and different industries and practices
• Provide support with regards to the implementation of legal requirements and ensure that they are understood by the team
• Support operational teams in delivering on their and the businesses objectives – materials planning, warehousing and transport.
• Assist in the execution and rollout of 3PL services across the region
• Implement changes through continuous improvement initiatives across the region using Industrial Engineering and related techniques, i.e., lean

Sustainability & Social

• Promote and support PSC optimization to reduce transportation frequency thereby positively impacting Anglo American’s carbon footprint 
• ​Promote sustainable change through initiatives such as zero waste to landfill 
• Identify opportunities to encourage host community participation in the PSC network 

Commercial Value Delivery 

• Socialise and embed culture of planning and fulfilment within areas such as purchasing, sourcing, end users, etc.

Relationship Management

• Support, encourage and promote the effective implementation of the Anglo American Operating Model 
• Maintain constructive partnerships with operational areas – materials planning, warehousing and transport
• Maintain excellent working relationships with other functional areas on which PSC depend – IM, COE, Supply Chain Managers, category managers, purchasing, etc. 
• Integrate with warehousing and transport operations on 3PL performance and improvement areas 
• Encourage and participate in cross-functional engagements to support optimum Physical Supply Chain practices

Supply Chain Excellence

• Identify and escalate critical issues related to PSC and follow up on resolutions and improvement opportunities
• Conduct benchmarking activities to determine PSC leading practice, relevant technology and digitization opportunities that will enable the transformation of PSC performance in Anglo American with effective integration of effective systems, technology and practices

People & Teams

• Drive own performance management and personal learning
• Embrace a Supply Chain team culture of diversity and inclusiveness 
• Collaborate with the CoE to develop and implement a regional Logistics people capability framework and development plan and be responsible for implementing the plan in the region 
• Support cross functional team interactions with internal stakeholders to execute logistics activities

Governance & Compliance

• Ensure personal and team compliance to internal Anglo American and Supply Chain Governance requirements pertaining to all materials planning activities  
• Ensure personal and team compliance to applicable legislative requirements pertaining to all Physical Supply Chain Management activities in set portfolio

Qualifications:

• An undergraduate qualification - Bachelor degree level or equivalent, alternatively relevant tertiary qualification and proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity 
• Desirable: A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline OR a proven track record of extensive practical experience in a role and context of similar complexity 

EXPERIENCE

Must have (Mandatory):

• Experienced in Power BI dashboard / reporting development
