Product and Application Engineer Global Grade 12 at Barloworld Equipment

Key Outputs

•  Interact with Customers, Sales and Product support, Marketing, Service Engineering and Caterpillar
•  Assess product application impact on equipment management practices on Barloworld Equipment sites. Identify areas for operational improvement on customer sites through site assessments (Gap assessments) and develop remedial actions
•  Work with Maintenance process engineering team to incorporate product application elements into equipment management strategy and process
•  Identify application influence on machine life cycle for existing and new sites
•  Assist in developing customer site solutions based on application, site severity, customer requirements and financial return. Assess impact of product application and site severity on component lives

Key outputs:

• Product – Identification of product as per application with focus on equipment management practice
• Machine application studies – Correct utilization of equipment in favourable and unfavourable conditions
• Production studies – Estimation of production possibilities with different scenarios in relation to various maintenance tactics
• Training – Conduct product and application training where required
• Site assessments – Review of aspects impacting on equipment management practice
• Customer Feedback – Compile comprehensive reports on studies conducted
• Caterpillar Liaison - Product problem reporting and specification needs to caterpillar and product configuration
• Feasibility studies – Fleet size scoping for new or replacement mining programs, site solution development and costing analysis
• Tender Process – Provide information required (product, production and application) to be used to complete tender documentation
• Continuous Improvement – Partnering with BWE customers on delivering key improvement projects, as per the agreed performance metrics

Qualification, Experience and Competencies

•  Matric
•  Diploma or Degree (Mining/Engineering)
•  Three to five years’ Earthmoving experience
•  Excellent product knowledge
