    Process Engineering Draughtsman - Pretoria

    Job Profile:

    • To provide a cost-effective Draughting service in the execution of process engineering design of moderate complexity, at a level of difficulty that is suited to an experienced draughtsperson.

    Key Performance Areas:

    • Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and Piping & Instrumentation Drawings (P&IDs) for design engineers and customers.
    • Generate PFDs and P&IDs as part of new plant designs.
    • Update available PFDs and P&IDs through line tracing in existing plants (design reconstitution).
    • Create interface designs, models and drawings on Solid Edge, Solid Works and Pro-Engineer.
    • Integrate complex models and layouts.
    • Translate drawings or models from suppliers into integrated models and drawings to verify compliance within plant.
    • Provide technical guidance in respect of problem solving and decision making.
    • Adhere to procedures, design specifications, safety and quality standards, and customer requirements.
    • Responsible for configuration of models and drawings within Teamcenter.
    • Comply with ISO 9001:2015 quality requirements.
    • Comply with ANSI/ISA 5.1-2022 Standard for Instrumentation Symbols and Identification.
    • Broad and in-depth knowledge of relevant technical drawings.
    • Broad knowledge of variety of plant and process equipment.
    • Workable knowledge of different types of chemicals and materials of construction.
    • Practical knowledge of multi-disciplinary engineering application.
    • Ability to plan layout and presentation of drawings and models
    • Develop work methods & techniques
    • Develop Policies & Procedures
    • Introduce Innovative approaches, systems and processes within the Engineering Framework.

    Requirements

    KEY KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

    • Working knowledge of drawing office best practices.
    • Working knowledge of Solid Edge, Solid Works and Pro-Engineer
    • Excellent organising skills
    • Ability to identify scope of work and deliver focused output to address the scope and solve the essence of problems
    • Ability to solve problems, think “out-of the box” and determine the root cause of problems

    Qualifications and Experience:

    Education:

    • Grade 12 or N2 Technical qualification with maths
    • Preferred- N6 Technical qualification

    Experience: 

    • 5 years Draughting experience
