    PMO Manager

    Job Purpose

    • The PMO Manager is responsible for the overall project management function, providing leadership, coordination, and management of the PMO processes and functions across Africa & Middle East. This role ensures the alignment of projects with the organization’s strategic objectives, improving the consistency, predictability, and efficiency of project delivery. Your strategic & project management acumen will be instrumental in optimizing resource allocation, fostering collaboration among Project Leaders, and driving the cadence of our business.

    Key Duties and Responsibilities

    • PMO strategy and governance: Establish PMO processes, tools, and frameworks to ensure effective project management across the AME region.
    • Project Oversight and Support: Oversee the project portfolio to ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Resource Optimization: Proactively identify resource pinch points and optimize project sequencing to ensure efficient resource utilization.
    • Central Coordination: Serve as the central coordination point for all Project Leaders embedded in Functions, fostering collaboration and sharing of best practices.
    • Senior Leadership Updates: Prepare updates and presentations for senior leadership meetings, such as CODI, Exco and Business Reviews, to communicate project progress and alignment with strategic goals.
    • Risk and Issue Management: Implement risk management processes to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and resolve issues.
    • Performance Measurement and Reporting: Establish and monitor KPIs and metrics communicated through regular status reports for senior management.
    • Agile Methodologies: Apply knowledge of Project Management methods including and cascading down from Agile to enhance project flexibility and adaptability.
    • Project management upskilling: based on project leads’ maturity, build training and development plans with HR to ensure they are up to date with relevant methodologies and tools.

    Key Competencies and Experience

    • Knowledge, Skills and Attributes:
    • Project Management: Strong project management skills to plan, execute, and monitor transformational projects (and portfolio of projects) effectively.
    • Change Management: Proficiency in change management strategies to ensure smooth transitions during transformation and implementation of new processes.
    • Stakeholder Engagement: The capacity to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders and secure their support for transformation initiatives. Ability to motivate and influence stakeholders in the adoption of PMO processes.
    • Resource Allocation: Skill in efficiently allocating and managing resources, including budgets and talent, for maximum impact

    Qualifications and Experience:

    • Bachelors or Master’s degree in a relevant field (e.g. Business Management, Commerce, Project Management or a related field)
    • Additional certifications such as CAPM, PMP, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner (ACP), or Lean Six Sigma a plus
    • Advanced in Excel, PowerPoint (for analytics and presentation), and in Collaboration/Communication tools such as MS Teams, Miro/Mural, Outlook, and Planner.
    • Experience in Project Management tools such as MS Project, and PPM tools.
    • A minimum of 7 years of experience in project/portfolio management roles.
    • Strong understanding of Change and Project Management methodologies, tools, and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and presentation skills to convey complex concepts to a diverse audience.
    • Experience (and mindset) in Agile organization / ways of working
