Operations and Warehouse Manager

• We are recruiting for an Operations and Warehouse Manager to join an established Logistics organisation specialising in freight transportation. The ideal candidate will join the company at their branch in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.

Minimum Requirements:

• Essential: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Transport Logistics and Supply Chain Management.
• 5 years of warehouse experience in a managerial role.
• Proven experience with consolidated cross-border consignments.
• Must have knowledge of loading vehicles and links.
• Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
• Essential: Valid Driver’s License and Own Transport.
• Beneficial: Forklift License and/or a Code 14 License. 

Duties and responsibilities:

• Strategically manage the warehouse in compliance with the company’s policies and vision
• Oversee receiving, warehousing, distribution, and maintenance operations.
• Set up the layout and ensure efficient space utilization.
• Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
• Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
• Manage stock control and reconcile with the data storage system.
• Responsible for preparing the annual budget.
• In charge of managing a team of +/- 16 staff members.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and transport companies.
• Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
• Produce reports and statistics regularly (In/Out status report, dead stock report, etc)
• Receive feedback and monitor the quality of services provided.
