    Maternal Child Health Consultant

    How can you make a difference? 

    Support the National Department of Health on strengthening the immunization program including preparation for the measles campaign, new vaccine introduction and capacity building

    • Technically support the Nationwide Measles supplementary immunization activity (SIA)
    • Technically support new vaccine introduction
    • Support the roll-out of the cold chain equipment procurement project
    • Participation in National and provincial monthly meetings to discuss poor performance and interventions
    • Support Manual revision and training

    Support the National Department of Health on strengthening maternal and new-born care and child health

    • Facilitate the compilation of the maternal and new-born care guidelines
    • Support the NDOH maternal and new-born health initiatives
    • Support the NDOH on IMCI training, side-by side camping and other child health initiatives
    • Attendance to EPI/MNCH related ministerial committee meetings
    • Participation in National and provincial monthly meetings to discuss poor performance and interventions

    Support the Health and Nutrition team initiatives

    • Compile maternal newborn child health and nutrition data in South Africa
    • Support Health emergency response
    • Assist with relevant donor and program reports, programmatic visits and other assigned responsibilities as needed

    To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

    • Master of Public Health
    • Bachelors: Nursing, Advanced Midwifery, Medicine
    • At least 10 years’ experience providing technical support and leadership in maternal, new-born, child health and immunization at National or Provincial level
