    Manager Sustainable Packaging Strategy

    This role will be responsible for executing Packaging goals strategy, leading day to day project work with cross functional BU teams covering our rPET launch plans, Collection program design, Recyclability goals and future packaging portfolio improvement to deliver virgin plastic reduction. This role will also lead development & implementation of capability building on packaging goals and collaborate with R&D and Category teams on delivering the targets by providing subject matter expertise.

    Responsibilities

    • Driving annual plans implementation for AMESA sustainable packaging targets (both Foods and Beverages) and related sustainability goals across Company owned & Franchise portfolio
    • Partner with Business Unit teams to support the development of timely and actionable sustainable plastic packaging glidepaths
    • Monitor progress and report performance against broad sustainability packaging targets
    • Provide technical subject matter support for the execution of the BU improvement initiatives
    • Liase with BU leads to ensure appropriation & tracking of pep+ funds for Collection programs and COGS spends for rPET sourcing
    • Collaborate with and/or influence cross-functional/ cross-sector teams to shape, develop, advocate, implement, or accelerate implementation of sustainable packaging agenda
    • Identify solutions and support functional partners (e.g., R&D, GP, Category, Corp Affairs) in development and execution of short and long-term sustainable packaging, materials, or policies
    • Provide guidance as subject matter expert to Corporate Affairs teams to shape and manage external advocacy plans and collection partnerships

    Qualifications

    • BA required; MBA or another graduate school degree strongly preferred
    • 9+ years overall experience; strategy or consumer packaged goods experience preferred
    • Knowledge, experience, and/or strong interest and capacity to understand PepsiCo packaging and external waste management infrastructure
    • Technical knowledge of both food and beverage packaging and understanding of circular systems and end-of-life infrastructures
    • Knowledge, experience and/or capacity to work with both company owned & franchise systems on execution
    • Matrix Management- Ability to network internally, to collaborate and influence with the many teams & stakeholders that are necessary to contribute to our agenda, bringing them together toward common goals.
    • Think strategically, communicate clearly, see connections, and anticipate future opportunities and challenges.
