    Maintenance Manager

    Job Description

    • Ensure legal compliance in Maintenance of production lines, central coolant systems, water treatment plants, compressor & RO equipment.
    • Lead all machines refurbishments & preparation for retooling, Planned (including program, drives back up), Preventative, Corrective Maintenance (PM) activities and Condition Based Monitoring by integrating the maintenance activities into the total department business plan and ensuring achievement thereof
    • Ensure assets & inventory control in respective area of responsibility
    • Maximize equipment effectiveness through a detailed, standardized, and prioritized preventive and predictive maintenance plan designed to improve productivity/ Developing preventative / predictive maintenance practices to ensure 100% equipment uptime
    • Provide resources, support, and priorities for all maintenance actions; Use Maximo for Maintenance database to document all maintenance activities (planned and crisis) and create reports to support continuous improvement
    • Lead Constraint Review process and drive maintenance metrics using the the Plant Operating System.
    • Lead all daily, weekend and shutdown maintenance planning with input from the team(s). Drive & improve autonomous maintenance.
    • Leading plant equipment down time issues resolution & prevention, R&M analysis, FRACAS process.
    • Actively participate in Simultaneous Engineering meetings, Forward Planning and Product Design to ensure Maintainability standards are followed.
    • Ensure that all maintenance activities of the team have baseline & on-the-day risk assessments, are performed safely as per legislative requirements and Ford's in house safety policies and processes
    • Ensure department compliance to Time & Data Management meetings for scheduling, staffing, procurement, equipment maintenance, inventory control, constraint analysis, quality reviews and the coordination of production activities with co-dependent departments.
    • Ensure Cost Per Unit in budget & drive the cost saving activities (including setting up of the repair of components, insourcing of purchase services, finding alternative suppliers).
    • Lead & ensure training and development of maintenance employee, create & sustain agile teams that can work on different lines. Ensure versatility of 3 artisans per one standard task in each shift.
    • Manage budgets and approval of expenses
    • Forecasting, ordering, and price negotiation of spare parts inventory
    • Hiring and management of subcontractors and other vendors for specialized maintenance work
    • Ensuring the availability of necessary tools and equipment

    Responsibilities

    • Performance measurements are as following:
      • Throughput to potential, equipment availability, PM Completion, Legal compliance in the respective area, maintenance employee versatility
      • Analyse and resolve issues in line with MTTR objectives booked in the Engineering Get Ready Rate document & line capacity calculation inputs through route cause analysis and corrective actions implementation, M-FMEA creation & annual reviews, control plan compliance, PM Job plan improvement based on the breakdowns analysis, ensure equipment calibration, load testing.
      • Consistently applying standard maintenance operating system (MOS) processes as outlined by Ford Production System (FPS).
      • Validate and bridge operational needs to prevent production line stoppages and or ensuring that quality components are manufactured through preventative and continuous autonomous maintenance

    Qualifications

    Degree/National Diploma in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering or National Technical Certificate (NTC) 6 + Trade Certificate in Mechanical/ Electrical Engineering), GCC Certificate essential .

    Three to five years proven experience gained as Engineer or Maintenance supervisor coupled with 5-10 year’s hands-on shop floor experience with manufacturing equipment

    • Previous project management experience
    • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles
    • Knowledge of constraint management principles
    • Safety and Quality experience is advantageous
    • Microsoft Office & Office 365 knowledge (Word/Excel/Outlook/ Project)
    • Prior experience managing a unionized work force
    • Previous CNC machining and Assembly experience
    • Previous leak test stand experience
    • Previous experience on operational use of quality tools & metrics.
    • Previous experience on operational use of maintenance information systems & metrics. Proven experience as maintenance manager or other managerial role
    • Experience in planning maintenance operations
    • Solid understanding of technical aspects of plumbing, carpentry , pneumatic, hydraulic, electrical control systems etc.
    • Working knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
    • Ability to keep track of and report on activity
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Outstanding organizational and leadership abilities
    • High school diploma or equivalent; Degree from a vocational school or BSc/BA in business administration or facility management will be an advantage
    • Valid Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) will be a plus
    • Creating preventive maintenance procedures and checklists
    • Managing the work order process effectively
    • Handling emergencies
    • Creating troubleshooting guidelines
    • Generally understanding how a maintenance strategy will impact maintenance operations and the organization.
    • Must possess the ability to analyze and resolve issues quickly through route cause analysis and drive change back to the production department
    • Must possess strong EQ: communication effectively with anyone, know when and how to delegate work, spot and resolve conflicts between team members,
    • handle different temperaments & impact stakeholders
    • Must be well-versed in the modern technology & IT in the maintenance field
    • Must display strong customer orientation with a commitment to upholding plant processes through strict adherence to the Quality Operating System.
    • Must demonstrate the ability to execute to achieve results, while organizing and managing multiple priorities
    • Must have the ability to serve as a strong and confident technical mentor to the production organization
    • Must have strong written and verbal communications skills
    • Successful candidate must be able to demonstrate leadership in ONE FORD (leadership) behaviors combined with outstanding interpersonal, teambuilding, and communication skills
    • Proven experience with CNC control systems and servo drive for positional control
    • Proven mechanical experience with CNC machining and engine assembly equipment sub-systems – spindles, linear guides & bearings, ballscrews, etc.
