A leading logistics company situated in Johannesburg is urgently seeking the expertise of an experienced Logistics Engineer to join their team of professionals.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support to the operational departments which include solution planning and design, implementation and stabilization, as well as continuously improving the logistics processes, systems, and overall solutions offered to the client
• Supervising technologists / Technicians while overseeing the implementation and maintenance of the solution
• Project Management and coordination
• Process and System design and implementation
• Continuously analyzing and improving the processes, systems, and procedures
• Provide direction and task related supervision to client dedicated technical support
• Workload management and task prioritization
• Conduct Process and System failure root-cause analysis
• Develop and maintain a trustworthy relationship with client and other stakeholders
• Establish and implement operational KPI’s
• Apply statistical methods and perform mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, staff requirements, and production standards
• Draft and design layout of equipment, materials, and workspace to illustrate maximum efficiency, using drafting tools and computer
• Study operations sequence, material flow, functional statements, organization charts, and project information to determine worker functions and responsibilities
• Develop manufacturing methods, labour utilization standards, and cost analysis systems to promote efficient staff and facility utilization
• Provide operational support on a daily basis
• Assist with system and process implementation change management

Requirements

• B.Eng / B.Sc in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or similar
• Up to 5 years experience in Automotive, Logistics, Supply Chain, Warehouse Planning, Cyclic Logistics
• Proven track record of Successful Project Management will be advantageous
