JOB DESCRIPTION

• To draft and negotiate moderately complex, bespoke legal agreements on general commercial contractual matters. To provide a comprehensive legal advisory service to multiple business areas in the Personal and Private Banking and Business and Commercial Banking segments. To identify, manage and mitigate legal risks in respect of relevant bank products and services in accordance with the legal entity mandate and regulatory requirements. To act as counsel to the Bank in multiple party negotiations.

Other Minimum Qualifications, certifications or professional memberships: Post Graduate Degree - LLB; Admitted attorney; Relevant professional membership

Experience Required

• Draft and negotiate agreements with merchants, card networks, payment service providers and other parties in the payments environment, as well as drawing up client-facing terms and conditions that relate to new payment-related products. Work closely with internal business stakeholders with expertise in navigating the payments environment, assessing the impact of new payment legislation, and proactively identifying potential legal risks. Represent the Bank in industry forums that relate to payments.
