    Lecturer - Religion & Theology

    Key performance areas

    • Teaching at undergraduate, Honours and Master’s level
    • Supervising Honours and Master’s students
    • Conducting research and producing peer reviewed research outputs
    • Participating in departmental and faculty committees
    • Coordinating research seminars and public lectures
    • Conducting academic duties at departmental level, e.g. module/course co-ordination
    • Some administrative duties at departmental level e.g. co-ordination of module or dept rep on faculty committee.
    • Integration of community engagement and outreach.

    Minimum Requirements

    • A Master’s degree in Social Ethics and/or a related theological field and evidence of registration for a PhD
    • Expertise in one or more areas in the field of Social Ethics (noticeably Ethical Theory, Moral Codes, Business Ethics, Professional Ethics, Leadership Ethics, Theology and Social Ethics)
    • At least 1 publication in an accredited journal or equivalent recognised output (including significant progress with PhD studies)
    • Evidence of innovative learning and teaching practice at undergraduate level
    • Evidence of successful Honours/ PGDIP or Master’s supervision

    Added Advantages

    • Knowledge of and exposure to the Ethics Institute of South Africa (EthicsSA) and/or other related organisational initiatives
    • Creative insights with respect to the development and relevance of ethics as a professional field
    • The ability to assist with the supervision of postgraduate theses
    • Evidence of regular conference presentations
