    Key Accounts Manager: Medical Schemes - Midrand

    Dis-Chem Pharmacies has an opportunity available for a Key Accounts Manager (Medical Schemes) for their Head Office in Midrand. Main purpose of the role is to coordinate and collaborate between the pharmacy group and medical aid providers to optimize patient care, streamline processes, and promote efficient healthcare delivery. Act as a bridge between the pharmacy group and medical aid organizations, facilitating communication and to address any issues or concerns that may arise.

    Minimum Requirements:

    Essential:

    • Grade 12 / Matric
    • Degree in Sales and Marketing or a related field
    • Minimum 3 - 5 years experience in key accounts management

    Advantageous:

    • Postgraduate qualification in Commerce or Pharmacy
    • 2 years experience in pharmacy operations

    Job Description:

    • Establish and maintain strong working relationships with medical aid organizations, including insurers, managed care organizations, and third-party administrators.
    • Serve as the main point of contact for medical aid organizations, proactively engage in regular communication and build trust.
    • Collaborate with medical aid representatives to negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and reimbursement terms that align with the pharmacy group's objectives.
    • Facilitate effective communication between the pharmacy group and medical aid organizations, ensure accurate and timely exchange of information.
    • Act as a liaison to resolve any issues or concerns raised by medical aid organizations, coordinate with
      relevant departments within the pharmacy group to address them promptly.
    • Provide regular updates to both internal and external stakeholders regarding changes in medical aid
      policies, formulary updates, and other relevant information.
    • Identify growth opportunities within assigned accounts and develop strategies to capitalize on them.
    • Work closely with medical aid organizations to understand their formulary requirements and ensure
      the pharmacy group's compliance with those guidelines.
    • Collaborate with pharmacy and clinical teams to ensure that the pharmacy group's product offerings
      align with the medical aid organizations' preferred drug lists.
    • Assist in the development and implementation of strategies to maximize formulary access and
      reimbursement for the pharmacy group's products.
    • Build and nurture strong relationships with key decision-makers within medical schemes and healthcare organizations.
    • Act as the primary point of contact for key accounts, addressing their needs, resolving issues, and ensuring customer satisfaction.
    • Monitor and evaluate the pharmacy group's performance with medical aid organizations, including key
      performance indicators (KPIs) such as claims processing, medication adherence, and patient
      satisfaction.
    • Generate reports and analyze data to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
    • Present findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders and medical aid organizations to
      optimize operational processes and enhance patient outcomes.
    • Stay updated on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to proactively identify  new business opportunities.

    Essential:

    • Computer Skills – Microsoft Office: Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Unisolv

    • In-depth knowledge of Medical Aid organizations, formulary management, reimbursement processes.
    • Strong understanding of pharmacy operations, including inventory management, claims processing, and regulatory compliance.
    • Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and generate meaningful insights.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Advanced customer service and emotional intelligence.
