. Inventory Controller (PPE) at Alstom

Job Purpose

• The purpose of an inventory controller role is to manage and oversee the inventory levels of company’s PPE. This includes monitoring stock levels, coordinating with suppliers, ensuring accurate and timely inventory counts, analyzing inventory data to make informed decisions about purchasing and distribution. Inventory controller plays a crucial role in maintaining efficient and cost-effective inventory management..

Key Responsibilities

• Receiving and inspecting incoming stock and verify the accuracy of deliveries.
• Ensuring proper storage and organization of inventory.
• Managing and tracking inventory levels to ensure adequate supply.
• Issuing and replenishing stock as needed.
• Record all inventory transactions, including receipts, issuing, shipments, and adjustments.
• Coordinate with suppliers to resolve any issues with stock availability or quality
• Maintaining accurate records of all stock movements, transactions and adjustments.
• Performing regular stock counts and audits to reconcile physical inventory with system records.
• Ensuring compliance with all company policies and procedures related to stock control and inventory management.
• Assisting in the loading and unloading of goods as required.
• Handling and resolving any discrepancies or issues related to stock.
• Prepare and provide regular reports on stock levels and inventory performance
• Assist with forecasting and planning for future stock requirements.
• Contributing to the continuous improvement of store operations and procedure

Minimum Requirements

• Matric with Maths and science
• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an Inventory / Stock Controller position
• Computer literacy
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) 
• Proficiency in inventory management
• Excellent data-entry and analysis skills
• Good communication Skills
• Analytical Skills
• Attention to detail
• Organizational skills and customer service.

Special Requirements

• The job involves frequent mobility, with work in several depots, and at times on the train corridors.
• To carry out technical support and maintenance on 24/7 shift & on-call basis (night, day, weekend).
