Instrumentation Mechanician - Rustenburg at Anglo American

Job Description:

As the Instrument Mechanician you will further be required to be competent in instrumentation used in highly automated plants and be responsible for all systems, maintenance.

Your responsibilities include and not limited:

• Perform daily inspections in accordance with mine and safety act regulations
• Report all defects and breakdowns on machinery to the supervisor
• Continuously monitor equipment failure and efficiency to improve trade specific equipment and systems
• Interpret P&IDs (Process and Instrumentation Drawings) to assist with fault finding
• Support on existing instrumentation
• Calibration and maintenance of all equipment within the control solution

This role is in the Engineering department at a C2 level reporting to the Senior Instrumentation Mechanician.

Qualifications:

• Grade 12 (Maths and Science) or N3 equivalent
• Certified Instrumentation Mechanician Trade Certificate (Section 13 or 26D)

Experience

• Exposure within Instrumentation environment within mining
• Must have smelting, refinery, concentrator experience
• Experience with furnaces (advantageous)
• Valid driving license code 08
• Basic Computer Skills (advantageous)
